Thx the offer, but could not sell for that low. Will test out in my car to verify working condition and update. Pretty rare part now a days from what I can find, may be more valuable for me to hold onto as a spare.

Please put in your post the amount you are willing to accept for the part. These do certainly come up with some regularity on the forum; earlier this year I shipped a 400E cluster to a forum member overseas in the UK Channel Islands, at no cost to the member.

Everything is in working order to my surprise, better than my stock 177k cluster!
Won't let me upload video of it in action but I can email to anyone interested, for now here is a pic:
(FYI, CEL for Knock sensor, SRS for aftermarket MOMO wheel, oil light for bad sensor)

Because of non-compliance with forum rules and etiquette, and non-compliance with a direct request to post a sale price that was made TWO WEEKS AGO, this item is going to be DELETED at midnight EDT tonight -- unless the listing is brought into compliance with forum rules.

FOR SALE policy posted here.

Updated post per your request... :driving:
Just curious- for your $275 asking price, did you replace the odo gears with new ones? Also, I am not sure if I am observing an artifact of photography or what, but does it seem that the fuel gauge needle is significantly more orange than the temp and pressure needles? Or is it the lighting? Thanks.

No, everything is in perfect working order and I’d assume at this mileage working as well as they do, they may have already been replaced.
Gas needle is indeed a bit darker, the first picture I posted is more accurate of what it actually looks like. The other pic is a screenshot of a video with bad lighting.

$275 seems very highly priced compared to other 400E clusters that have sold in the $65-100 range, shipped. For that price the gears should be guaranteed to have been replaced, and everything properly lubricated.

All the others I have found recently have been above $300 online, some with unknown working condition. If you think the price is high that is fine, but that is what I would be willing to part with it for. Otherwise it will be kept as a spare. If you find another Non ASR one for sale in known working condition and in good shape for a better price I’m all ears…

You would probably be best trying to sell it at that price via Facebook or other social media forums, Benzworld, etc. The prices here have been lower, as indicated. But then again, it is part of the culture of this forum that people tend to sell parts cheaper than available on eBay or other places, to help out fellow members. So if you seriously need $275+, you are very likely to be sitting on your cluster for a while.

I have an ASR 400E cluster in my basement right now that I'd be happy to let to go a good home for $100 shipped, but that's just me.

Nothing needs to be sold and I don’t need the money, it is listed in case anyone here needs it. Otherwise I’m fine hanging onto it as I said.

Ah! If you plan to keep it and restore it, you might want to crack it open and repaint the gauge needles to be uniform then. Its an easy project and brings outsized satisfaction for the effort involved. Here is how to do it: HOW-TO: Repainting faded instrument cluster gauge needles | "HOW-TO" Tutorial Articles

As well, if you crack open the cluster, it would be a good to ensure all the bulbs are in-spec and not over-wattage. Even if this is the later gauge housing with the beefier light pipes, you don't want to melt those pipes:

Finally, if you do crack it all open, here is a great tutorial written by our very own @emerydc8 whose contributions I have learned A LOT from over the years on how to replace the odometer gears: HOW-TO: Replacing Odometer Gears | "HOW-TO" Tutorial Articles

Also final final ---- if you decide to use Gleitpaste to lubricate odo gears, here is the part number: Part number is Mercedes-Benz Gleitpaste 001 989 14 51

Do you have pictures of that cluster if you’re willing to sell?

Cluster is still for sale just in case anyone comes looking. Just replaced ODO gears on my original, if that is something interested buyer would like me to do on this cluster I would be happy to do so before shipping out.
