Hi everyone,

New owner from Spain 🇪🇸 and after chasing this car for many, many years, I finally ended up buying one.

I’ve been reading this forum for a long time, learning a lot and enjoying all the knowledge and passion here, but until now I never really posted. I guess owning the car was the final push to finally join in.

The 500E has always been a dream car for me — the story, the sleeper look… it still feels special every time I see it. Finding the right one took a lot of patience, but it was 100% worth it.

Looking forward to learning more, sharing experiences and being part of the community. Glad to finally be here!

Cheers,

PS BTW I am currently looking for a set of Aero 3s , @bb1 do you still offer reproduction ones? Thank U

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I’m sharing two pictures of the car, nickname "DOC" :hammerhead:, the second one was taken just before starting with the engine work. My goal is to bring it back to a condition even better than when it left Zuffenhausen, 1992 seems too far away...

Oh wow. Is that Nautical Blue? LOVE the color!

:gor-gor:
Oh yes that’s a Nautic Blue car, same as mine. I’m of course biased but I think it’s one of the absolute best colours for the 124 series.

What are interior colour is it?

Bienvenido & Welcome here!!

Seems you have gotten a really neat drop of 'Rioja' - by meaning an excellent 500E (originally from 'Logroño'!) with that metaphor..

Enjoy the ride on your magnificent machine - saludos desde Stuttgart 🇩🇪 (but my heart started to beat in 🇪🇸 though, as I was born/raised in Madrid).

Thank you very much, Alberto! Indeed, I see you have a good eye. The car is kept very close to Logroño.
Stuttgart is a great place — I spent part of my youth in Tübingen and I really miss that time!

Yes, Tübingen is a pretty and very cozy small-mid sized town with a renowned architecture and historically relevant for its university too..

You may also want to read his post and the one right above it, as I now realised about you searching for reproduction wheels (AMG Aero III style) and this aid might help you

Many thanks Alberto, other than the missing AMG logo, wheels seem identical. Original period correct ones seem all to be fractured in the center... or at least repaired.

By the post above the one you quote, what do you mean?

Nearly identical in appearance anyway. I believe these replicas are 2-piece wheels, not 3-pc like the original OZ.

Many / most do have hairline cracks at the lug bolt holes, and these cracks can not be repaired safely.

@500 E My pleasure as always!

Of course, AMG logo must not be used on the new replica wheels, if the company that sells them did it then AMG would sue at court for fraud/falsification and misuse of proprietorial name rights (at least in Germany, me thinks ROW maybe too, 'cause it would mean bigger business for new manufacturer - thus AMG losing more money!)

Ok, simply referring to post #29 - while Dave's is #30 (on that thread, since he replied/added details afterwards.. 👏🏽👌🏽)
This had been my humble contribution:
