What is it when I drive my car on the highway at about 70-80 miles per hr. all of sudden it shuts down completely. So
I check all fuses I discovered something very odd the fuse's on the ECU had blown 3 10 volt fuse replaced them car started
up. My question is what's causing the ecu module fuse to blow?

Please Help
Thanks

Please pull codes and see what you have. Reset all codes and make the shut-down happen again. Re-pull codes and report them back here.

If you keep blowing fuses, something is wrong... do you have spare modules to swap in for testing?

What is the best soulution for sticking rings? Besides a ring job.
The easiest thing to try is some fully synthetic oil and Italian tune-ups (lots of full-throttle, high-RPM, high-load driving). If there's no serious problems other than the rings being a bit sticky, they should free up with some hard use.

Why do you think there is a ring problem? Have you done a hot compression test?

:tumble:

What color smoke? Blue smoke, with exhaust smell of burning oil? If so, be careful, that could damage the catalysts... especially if using oil with high levels of ZDDP.

This is pretty unusual in M119's. Are you certain it isn't valve stem seals, instead of rings? I'd definitely recommend a compression test, and leak down test. @JC220, any other ideas?

OP needs to provide alot more info for us of course. 1 liners won't cut it. Happy to assist just need to know all information up front.

Also @Modpryor can you advise on the production dates of the following items on your 500E:

Throttle Body (ETA)
Lower Wiring Harness
Upper Wiring harness

Search the forum for lots of information on this if unsure.

Do you have a blink code reader?

Do you DIY or is a shop going to look at it too?

Also, make sure all modules within the coffin box are fully seated down. This sometimes requires gentle taps with a rubber mallet.
