Hello everyone, Best wishes for the new year
Please excuse my translation.

I'm contacting you today because I have a problem with my 500 124.036.
Let me explain.
The problem didn't appear suddenly, but gradually.
Starts and idles perfectly.
Once started, the electronic throttle control fails from 0 to 50% (the pedal has no effect). Above 50%, the mechanical throttle takes over, and the engine revs up, then drops, then revs up again, and so on.
The throttle body was "revised" at Kurth in Germany (wiring harness and connector, as far as I could see). The gentleman was very nice, but he didn't elaborate on the possible fault he might have fixed.
With the diagnostic tool installed, I read, noted, and cleared all the fault codes.
It turns out that pin 4 shows the following code:
- 4 Voltage to the mass airflow sensor with hot wire circuit. Open circuit or short circuit.

- 8 Camshaft position sensor signal. Open circuit or short circuit.

- 17 CAN data: Electronic throttle control module - no data transmission

Pin 8 - code - 11 Accessory equipment control module power supply interrupted

I replaced the camshaft sensor I had on hand from another vehicle that runs perfectly, but it didn't change anything.
I conclude that the source of the problem is in the wiring harness/pins/connector/ECU based on the error codes.

I'd like to find a wiring diagram to check continuity, voltage, grounds, etc., but it's quite complicated to find the right connector for the right car and the right ECU.

The fuses are good.
I have no voltage at the throttle body/electronic accelerator connector.

I should mention that the upper and lower wiring harnesses are new from 2012, the cables look fine, no cracks.

What do you think? Have you ever had this kind of problem?

Thank you all.
Clément

Hello Clément,

What you describe is "limp mode", where the ETA (Electronic Throttle Actuator) is not functioning.

What fault codes are present on pin #7 (E-GAS module)? The E-GAS module is what controls the ETA. Do you have access to a spare E-GAS module for testing? It can be from any chassis with M119 engine and LH-SFI (including 140/129 chassis, and 4.2L engines).

Welcome to the forum!
