• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

500Eboard Status & Philosophy (w/regard to 500Ecstasy)

Boardreader is a web-forum content search engine and archiving site. Scott's site was highly optimized for search-engine capture (SEO) and I've done that now as well with this site, but it takes time for the bots to fully index the site and then for it to go up in the search-engine rankings and to get lots of links from other sites. At one time, 500Ecstasy was one of the top-three items that would come up on Google when you typed in "Mercedes 500E." Over time, this site will assume that mantle from other sites, but it all takes time. 500Eboard started in the November/December 2008 time frame, and really started kicking into high gear in the July 2009 time frame when I lost the 6 months of archives and transitioned things to 500Espot.com, and then as you know things have REALLY hockey-sticked since the conversion this past July 17 back to the 500Eboard domain along with the simultaneous move to the vBulletin forum software.

Comparative stats since the mid-July 2011 conversion point to this forum are quite interesting:

I would say that this forum is now roughly up to the same level that 500Ecstasy very likely was in terms of daily user activity and engagement. 500Ecstasy had more than 3,500 members since its inception at the end of August, 2003. Mostly this was cumulative because Scott never pruned his member totals and there were likely a lot of Russian spam-bots registered as well as one-visit types of folks who registered and never visited again. I tend to watch registrations carefully (checking IP addresses) and prune out spam-bots and other unsavory/unwanted types from this forum (our registration total is well over 900 if you count in the accounts that I've pruned out).

With its up-time taken cumulatively, 500Ecstasy had a good ~7 year run. It's hard to believe that the 500Eboard has been in constant operation coming up on half as long as 500Ecstasy was.

Cheers,
Gerry

I'm longing for my old thread only because it is essentially B3's "build" thread and I'd like to be able to reference it once in a while, especially as I get closer to doing up Benzer4. I'd also like to be able to link folks to that thread when they ask me on other Benz sites what I've done to B3 to make him so quick, instead of having to type it out again and again, not to mention the fact that I might be leaving something out since I haven't seen that thread for so long. Now that I've had some time to view that site that I linked I can see that the whole posts are not there, only a preview of each post and a link to it which of course is useless because the links are to a site which is still down.

There are a lot of us who have data over there that we would like to be able to retrieve. What ever happened to that plan where if Scott wasn't able to bring his site back, he was gonna pass the old threads onto you for you to post under an archive section of this site? There was/is A LOT of irreplaceable data over there!
Regards, Eric

Eric (and all 500Eboard.com members for that matter),

You bring up a salient topic at a good point in time (the last day of 2011). Here are my thoughts on the matter, and I apologize in advance for the lengthy post.

Scott gave his site away (at least the hard drive containing the database and forum software) to his mechanic sometime in 2010. I met with both of them over dinner and drinks in March of this year in downtown San Francisco. At that meeting Scott's mechanic said that he intended to bring the site back up and have it affiliated with the [existing] web site of his Mercedes/German car repair shop in San Francisco. We discussed various forms of collaboration and at that time I notified both of them of my impending switch-over to vBulletin (which as you know I did on July 17th of this year), as well as the primary motivations and reasons for doing the switch-over.

Nothing definitive came out of that meeting. Scott's mechanic (Benny Lui) didn't seem inclined to directly hand over the site, as he clearly indicated he had plans to bring it back up during 2011. Unfortunately that has not materialized, I think largely because Benny has a business to run and probably has not had the time, bandwidth to do it or to pay someone to do it. Benny had indicated at dinner that part of his rationale was to use the 500Ecstasy site, affiliated with his company, to help drive 500E-related business to his firm. Also he indicated that he is (personally) a 500E enthusiast and so part of his rationale was to bring the site back up as a service to owners borne out of his personal enthusiasm for the cars.

Personally, I am a bit gun-shy about forums that are affiliated with or sponsored by third-party companies. Reason being is that the focus of the site is invariably corrupted (or at least influenced) by the expressed desires and needs of the affiliates or sponsors. Scott was going down the path of advertising sponsorships from certain [relevant] firms with 500Ecstasy long before he took the site down. And certainly it is easily technically possible (using this vBulletin forum software) to do this - I could put ads up on this site within 15 minutes if I wanted to. I don't know how much actual sponsorship money that Scott in reality collected from his "advertisers" but I don't believe it to be very much -- I think he put the ads up first as a courtesy to the sponsors and then tried to collect money from them. Thus, I don't know how winning of a strategy this was for him.

Scott also actively solicited (and received) money, in varying amounts, from quite a few of the regular users of 500Ecstasy. Many of us donated cash or goods to him to express our support and to help him defer the [not insignificant] costs of the dedicated hardware and internet connection he had in his apartment to host and run the site. Scott offered several levels of support/membership based on varying amounts of money donated. I personally donated cash to him several times at materially significant levels, to express my appreciation for what he was doing. Over time, as the 500Ecstasy site grew, it seemed to me to take on a much more commercial bent to it, as Scott solicited contributions from members and advertisements from sponsors. While these changes over time didn't affect the quality of the dialogue that occurred between members on the site, it did place some subtle delineations into place with regard to members' standing, and also to endorsing some specific companies that (this is my opinion only) may have been a bit questionable. I believe over time that Scott increasingly came to see 500Ecstasy as a source of income -- however small -- whether or not it actually provided him with income or not. My numerous conversations with him in person and over the phone led me to believe that he never made any money from the site, though perhaps the donations he received from members did in large part help to defray the costs of the dedicated (and expensive) hardware he purchased to run the site.

My own philosophy with regard to this site is quite different. I will not accept, nor will I officially endorse (via ads/banners/etc.) or accept money from any individual 500Eboard member or third-party organizations with regard to the operational expenses of this site. 500Eboard will remain independently owned and operated, and unaffiliated "officially" with any businesses or outside parties. That is not to say that there aren't organizations that I favor or recommend in a personal capacity, and I do this quite often (for example I advocate using parts.com, or AutohausAZ, or Blue Ridge MB for that matter among many others) but that is only out of my own experience or knowledge, and it is not the official opinion or position of this 500Eboard. All individuals here are welcome to recommend and endorse any relevant third-party firm they want to, but they do this on their own personal credibility dime -- not that of the forum itself.

By now, I think the 500Eboard train has fully left the station, and 500Ecstasy is starting to fade fast. Indeed all of us who contributed to that forum (and I was among the first 10 members there, and at the time of its demise the #2 or #3 poster in total post count behind Scott himself and probably the 500E Squid GSXR) had/have a lot of intellectual capital and information invested there. I would love nothing more than to recoup all of that, for the good of the worldwide 500E community. The ability to quickly and seamlessly do that, was and is a primary motivator in the migration of this site's foundation software to the vBulletin 4.0 release (an earlier version of which was the foundation for 500Ecstasy.com). It would be an exceedingly simple and rapid task to import the 500Ecstasy database and membership base into this forum -- taking a matter of a few hours maximum. It would be a MUCH simpler migration than was involved with moving 500Espot from the free/open-source phpBB software to the vBulletin platform, which I researched, prototyped and trialed for more than year before accomplishing on July 17, 2011.

This forum is and will unwaveringly remain by its members, of its members and for its members. I think it's past the point of some sort of 50-50 merger or affiliation with 500Ecstasy -- this site has in my opinion now fully blossomed and taken over the former mantle and mandate that 500Ecstasy pioneered and operated with for many years. Not to be arrogant in any way, as that is not who I am or what I am about, but if Benny wishes to combine 500Ecstasy with this forum, I would only do it as a merger INTO this system -- not a merger of this system INTO 500Ecstasy, for the reasons mentioned above with regard to members' mandate as well as my own philosophical aversion to affiliations, endorsements and site advertising. All of these distract from the core mission of the site, which is to serve its membership. In addition, I would NOT consider any sort of payment (monetary or otherwise) for the 500Ecstasy data -- it would need be done no strings attached, with the goodwill, mission and reputation of this site as the foundation for any transfer.

All that said, I would fully embrace and welcome the merger of 500Ecstasy into this forum, but only under a strict set of conditions as outlined above. While I don't think these conditions to be unreasonable, I do believe they may be in conflict with what Benny would want to do with the 500Ecstasy data. I expect that sometime during the calendar first quarter of 2012, I'll invariably find myself in the Bay Area again on a business trip. I'll attempt to broker another meeting with Scott and Benny to conduct further discussions about possibly obtaining the data and/or what Benny's future plans are with regard to the site. My personal opinion, however, is that the chances of the 500Ecstasy data seeing the light of day grow ever more remote with every passing day. It's unfortunate, but it's how things work. But if Benny wants to combine forces and bring the 500Ecstasy forum data in under the 500Eboard umbrella, I am certainly open to discuss and negotiate such a transfer.

If I am no longer physically able, motivated/inclined or otherwise capable of performing my role of maintaining and operating this site, I have provided both GSXR and Glen with full administrative capabilities for the 500Eboard forum, and they would be able to continue operating it (at least from a technical standpoint). My intention is also to provide them, as long as they are willing and able, with co-administrative control of the domain 500Eboard.com so as to further maintain the site's continuity in case I am incapacitated (so they could renew the domain, assume domain admin contact, etc. if necessary).

This is the current state of the 500Eboard ship as I see it on 31-December, at 1:53 AM Central Standard Time. Discussion is roundly welcomed and encouraged, of course.:coolgleam:

Thanks to everyone for their patience, loyalty, patronage and active contributions to 500Eboard during 2011. Running this site and interacting with all of you is something I really look forward to on a daily basis, wherever I am or whatever I'm doing. I think I have actually [personally] met & broken bread with nearly 40 of you over the years in many locations around the world -- I always wonder if anyone can beat that number ;).:cheers3:

Here's to a positive, fruitful & prosperous 2012 for all of you and for the 500Eboard.:thankyou1:

Cheers,
Gerry

I for one would like to thank YOU Uncle Gerry for your tireless devotion and dedication to our hobby. It is much appreciated!

Being one of the folks that you haven't yet broken bread with, I would like to extend the invitation to you now that if you are ever in So. Cal., we would love to have you over for dinner! I'll make sure that I get Justin and Steve to join us too so you can add them to your "broken bread" list. (This is of course unless we have already moved to Nor. Cal. in which case the invite will apply for when you are in Nor. Cal!)

Happy New Year everybody!

I just re-read Uncle Gerry's post again and I fully understand and agree with his refusal to pay for the data from 500Ecstasy. I do however want to throw this idea out there for consideration: I figure that at some point Benny is either going to do something with 500Ecstasy or he is finally going to come to the realization that he is never going to get around to it because of lack of time, resources or whatever. Hopefully he will also realize that the longer he postpones getting the site back up, the less chance there is that 500Ecstasy will actually go anywhere. (And as long as the site has already been down that point may already be here!) At that point of clarity he would/will finally be open to the idea of turning the data over to this site. Human nature being what it is though, he might also unfortunately insist on getting SOMETHING for that data and that is where the rub will be because Uncle Gerry will, justifiably, refuse. The idea that I have is that there is nothing that would prevent a third party from compensating Benny and then DONATING the data to this site. That would at least make that data once again available to the hobby which is of paramount importance. I know that you old timers don't need me to say this but I'm compelled to say it anyways: THERE IS A WEALTH OF DATA AT STAKE HERE! For the sake of the hobby I hope cooler heads will prevail. By that I mean since all parties involved are still able to sit down and have dinner together and talk about this stuff, I think, (and hope), that something can be worked out by utilizing some creative thinking and creative ideas like the idea I have proposed here. There may be even better ideas out there!

Another key part of my plan is that Uncle Gerry hits up Benny at just the right time!
Regards, Eric

Well said, Uncle Gerry. Thanks for all your hard work and all the best for 2012!

Appreciate more of the bits behind the status of the old 500ecstasy forum. Attitudes and intentions can change quickly. (re-reading early posts there I was suprised how much we've learned). Good wishes toward bringing all the information back to the 500e board. Thank you, Gerry, for hosting this excellent forum which has succeeded in replacing Scotts great work and reaffirming your dedication and enthusiasm.

If you ever find yourself in Atlanta with some extra time please look me up for some food and drink.

OK, I will, but only if you go drag racing with us!:stickpoke:

Please continue to monitor the So. Cal. Drag Racing thread cause that is where we will talk about that So. Cal. get-together. If I ever start another new thread on that topic, I will link it to the drag racing thread.

Eric, this thread should be what the title says - the forum. For a SoCal GTG, please start a new thread, if there isn't one already.

BTW - you should create a new thread in the 400E subforum, listing all the mods done to B3, along with all your timeslip data... i.e., your original baseline numbers, then you made X change and got Y result, etc, etc. It would be great to have that all in one place. As you continue to drop into the 13's and 12's, just edit the original post(s) to add the new data. (Note: You might need different gears to crack the 12's, or a 200 shot of NOS, or something... LOL...)

Eric, this thread should be what the title says - the forum. For a SoCal GTG, please start a new thread, if there isn't one already.

I made that post when this discussion was still taking place on the So. Cal. Drag Racing thread, before Uncle Gerry started this new thread, and moved the posts over here. I'll edit the post.

The So. Cal. "get-together" can't get much bigger than it already is or else we will have to change the venue. If that happens, I'll start a new thread about it. In the meantime, all discussions on that topic should and will remain where they started, on the drag racing thread. (I checked with the O.P. and he is cool with the slight deviation from the original topic.)

BTW - you should create a new thread in the 400E subforum, listing all the mods done to B3, along with all your timeslip data... i.e., your original baseline numbers, then you made X change and got Y result, etc, etc. It would be great to have that all in one place. Too much of the data you are referring to is there on Scott's/Benny's site. I'm over 50 now and I forget things sometimes! (Actually, I've ALWAYS been forgetful!) I've also lost some of B3s earliest timeslips and my notes were on those timeslips! Another problem is that on numerous occasions I have violated the first rule of Hot Rodding which is make and analyze your changes ONE AT A TIME. So in some cases I don't know what mods got me what gain. It is also a given that some of the mods that I have done didn't really start to shine until other mods were made, meaning that had they been analyzed on their own, they wouldn't have shown much of a gain. There are also of course some gains that have been documented here on this site on the drag racing thread. I do understand the importance of documenting all of this stuff in one spot though because EVERYTHING that I have done to B3 can and should be applied to ALL LH equipped M119 powered cars which makes it VERY relevant to the patrons of this site! So the plan is for me is to start a Benzer4 build thread here on this site and fully document the journey from slow car that at this point wouldn't even keep up with Benzer1 to a car that will hopefully be able to spank Benzer3! (Not sure about that last part but that is the goal!)

I haven't forgotten about you Dave, I only recently just found out that Justin changed his plan about the shipment and failed to inform me. I'll send the package in about a week.

Uncle Gerry, once that thread is started, is it OK to link folks who are on other sites over here to it? I don't know enough about this stuff. I know that in some cases extra traffic makes the site owner money but in other cases it actually COSTS the site owner money. I know you are not trying to make money here but I want to be sure we aren't costing you too much money either! We also have to be careful that we don't end up sending a bunch of riff raff over here to this site! I can easily do a duplicate thread over on another Benz site and link folks there if you want.

Also, what do you think about my idea for saving the old site's data and getting it over here to this site?
Regards, Eric

There is no restriction with regard to site traffic here. The more, the merrier. I encourage site traffic, in fact !! By all means please do link any post/thread here from wherever you want to. Even if it were to cost additional for more monthly data transfer (and it wouldn't) I would gladly pay any additional fees.

I think your idea is fine with regard to getting the old site's data and incorporating it here. Anything that can be done to achieve this would be welcome in my book.

Wanted to update the stats with what's happening currently, to document the steady but solid growth of this site.....

These percentage changes are just since the end of 2011 !!!

Thanks for putting together a bad ass site!!

I'll agree, thanks for the awesome site!
I don't even have a car atm; and I still find myself checking this site twice a day :shitnot: (maybe three or four times? :whistling2:).
I feel that the combined knowledge and answers provided in a mature manner doesn't just apply to e500es. You can definitely glean knowledge for other makes just of the posts for 500es made here. I also applaud your approach to running a site Gerry. I've been on the web (and net) a looong time and have watched several of my favorite boards go the way of monatization(sp?), it's always a bummer. Anyways, good on ya for having a great site!

As of next Tuesday, 500Eboard in its current form (and on the current vBulletin platform) will have been up and running for exactly 1 year. That means the official and long-promised "switchover" from 500Espot to 500Eboard (and the switchover from the phpBB platform to vBulletin forum platform) happened one year ago. From the table above, you can see the basic statistics that were in place at the time of the switchover. Heck, you can see the growth just since April, when I last updated the table !!

Now, take a look at the table below, which I've updated with "delta" stats since April 2012, and also "1-year anniversary" stats since last July's switchover from phpBB to vBulletin.

From the last row in red above, you can see the growth of this site IN JUST THE LAST YEAR ALONE.

And over the past year, we've been able to enhance this site in the following ways:
  • Numerous small modifications and functional improvements (i.e. the "thank you" for postings, adding strikethrough letters, etc.)
  • Addition of "random header image" to cycle between multiple site header photos at random
  • Addition of the wiki functionality utilizing the same, familiar editing and user interface as regular vBulletin boards
  • Expansion of the Photo Gallery capability, allowing members to post their own, dedicated Photo Galleries for the cars if they wish
  • Addition of 126 coupe and 400E/E420 interest boards for members with these related cars and interests
  • Addition of integration with mobile (iPad, Android) platforms via Tapatalk and ForumRunner applications/plug-ins
  • Facebook login capability & integration for those who want to use it
  • Addition & initiation of content-managment front-end (at page http://www.500eboard.com)
  • Addition of full MB workshop manuals on-line for multiple chassis
  • Enhancements to spam and user authentication capabilities to filter out "false" user signups
Key enhancements still in the works:
  • Searchable parts price database (which will be updated several times per year)
  • Complete content management transformation into a portal (make 500Eboard.com a true "landing page" with real news and content)
  • Searchable VIN database with all vehicle data I've collected over the past 10 years
Your support and enthusiasm has been integral to this board and its expansion and success. It has been a pleasure to provide and administer this site (with the aid of GSXR and Glen) and to "virtually" get to know all of you. Not to mention it was **the** highlight of my recent trip to Europe to actually meet 4 active members of this site "in the flesh" for the first time, and consume plenty of beer and wine together with all of them (Jelmer, Arkady, Bing and Christian_K).

For all of that I sincerely thank all of you :thankyou:for the time and effort you take in making this a great destination for MB owners. This site is not un-noticed and has already secured its place as THE "go-to" site for expertise on the 124.036 and 124.034 models. I am looking forward to owning and running this site MANY years into the future.

I have learned more on this site than I have in 20 years of owning MB.
Thanks for all your work!:man:

Hello all,

A couple of stats that I thought you might find of interest.....

I did a quick comparo with the final "snapshot" of 500Ecstasy.com, which was done on August 20, 2008.

The total number of threads was 5,985 (2.1x that of 500Eboard currently).

The total number of posts was 49,575 (1.9x that of 500Eboard currently).

The total number of members was 3,284 (2.3x that of 500Eboard currently).

500Ecstasy didn't grow much past the spring/summer of 2008 because it was mostly off-line after that point.
500Eboard officially started up in December 2008, about 3 months after I moved to Houston, TX.

Cheers,
Gerry

P.S. We'll be firing up the full-on CMS system for 500Eboard.com in the near future. This will provide a true "portal" (landing page) for the site. This is a $100 annual license upgrade for the vBulletin software but will give us a lot of flexibility in how the doormat of the site looks and feels. In addition, we'll be adding new "skins" so that all of you will have the ability to choose/customize the color/layout scheme of 500Eboard to your tastes. Those are the next two major upgrades you'll be seeing for the site over the summer.

Thanks ... it's truly a pleasure running this site.

Gerry, this site and the members that are on it is a part of what makes these cars so great !

I cant even think what ownership would be like with out it !!!

Thanks

Agreed. I would never, ever consider owning one of these rare beauties without the vast knowledge of this community!!

Thank you for running it Gerry and thanks to all who contribute your time and knowledge!

It's been another year since I updated the stats on the site, so thought I'd provide a brief update.

From mid-July of 2012 to the present time....

We've made a lot of progress during 2012-2013 as 500Eboard has accelerated significantly in terms of membership numbers, total thread and post count.

  • 500Eboard has now been on the vBulletin platform just over 2 years, having transitioned in early July, 2011
  • The document/photo database for 500Eboard is now well over 5 gigabytes in size
  • The size of the 500Eboard post/thread database is now over 100 MB
  • The member avatar database is nearly 2.5 MB in size (thanks mainly to Jelmer & his animated GIFs)
  • The site has retained a relatively high level of up-time and reliability during the year

It is a pleasure to operate & maintain this site. Thanks to all of you for your continuing support.

Cheers, :worshippy:
Gerry

All:

The 500Eboard will be celebrating its 5th Anniversary this December 1 (actually ... November 30). :bnb:

Does anyone have ideas to celebrate our site's first real "milestone"? :cheers1:

Cheers,
Gerry

Perhaps some special T-shirts to commemorate this event ???
It would be a great idea. All dependent on the right design. If we could get a sweet design, then I'd bet we could sell them to a lot of members if the price was right.

Anyone here an artiste, or know one?

I think we'd have to have GSXR's "mushroom-birdy" avatar as an element of any 500Eboard t-shirt design :banana1:... perhaps the logo on the breast pocket.

If you want people to run to the toilet with their hands over their mouth at the sight of the shirts, by all means, go for it.

Gerry,
Can you share with us your costs in setting up, running, and staffing this site?
If there is considerable costs, could a "donate" option help?
Is Dave on staff, or does he just have a LOT of time and energy to help us newbies?:watchdrama:

I think a lot of people have benefited from this information and saved lots of $$$, and would be willing to help if needed!

Hi Trae,

Excerpted from post #4 of this thread (the full post is here):

The site costs around $95 annually for hosting and storage costs (about $8 per month), which approximately $48 is automatically debited from my checking account every January and July.

The license for the vBulletin forum software was around $120, as a one-time purchase that I made about 3 years ago. I will not upgrade the software to the current "Version 5" of the vBulletin software because I think it is overkill for this site. vBulletin will continue to maintain this Version 4 for at least the next few years, although I doubt if few new features will be added -- only security holes plugged and perhaps a few bugs will be fixed, but no new functionality developed.

IIRC, I paid around $60 for the Wiki add-on software license. The Wiki now has a new major version, and I am contemplating upgrading to it but have not yet completed my investigation at this time. I will consider upgrading the Wiki if there are compelling new features and capabilities; otherwise not.

At such time in the future, if vBulletin curtails support for the current version 4 software, I will at that time consider migration to another platform. I am keeping my eyes on a couple of different packages that could make sense, including one interesting forum software system from the original authors of vBulletin, who started a new company and created this new software platform they call XenForo. I wrote about this here, and I've continued to watch XenForo mature, with great interest.

Since nearly the beginning of the 500Eboard, I have had both Dave and Glen as full system-admins, with identical God-like powers of moderation, editing and administration of the site that the "gerryvz" account has. More recently I also added Jelmer as a full site admin, as well.

Cheers,
Gerry

How about a commemorative 500Eboard grille badge?

A 2014 calendar would be a great idea, and easy enough to create and order a stock of for people.

Grill badges IMHO are a non-starter. I've done grill badges when I was in the M-100 Group. It's A LOT of cost up front and we'd need a minimum commitment of at least 50, and preferably 100, grill badges. they'd likely be $50-75 each and I think that is more than a lot of people would want to pay. So, you're talking about some major cash outlay up front, with no guarantee of anyone buying one.

The M-100 badge with the red border was the one I did, for the 2001 M-100 Group Meet which I hosted in Portland. Hard to believe that was more than 12 years ago !!! I worked for over 9 months to put that 3-day meet together.

Cheers,
Gerry

My cars are not pretty enough to be centerfolds on your calendar.:runexe:

Every E500E is beautiful and I am pretty sure all members cars are very well taken care of.:rugby:

I would like to have a calendar with member cars only

That is great idea. We can have each member to chose pic he/she likes to be in a calendar. That would be cool to know all members cars :cheers3:

I am definitely in.

I was also thinking about stickers ? For example BMW X5 4.6 is/4.8 is guys have TopEndCarClub , we can make something like that ?

I will begin working on a 2014 calendar. If anyone has any STUNNING photography they'd like me to use, please let me know via PM. I'm looking for top-notch stuff. Car show photos are OK. Close-ups of interesting elements of the cars are also OK.

Good idea, Rudy! Pleased you decided to go with it, Gerry. Btw...nice job you did on that "100" badge.
