Greetings! And thanks for adding me to the group! I've followed the thread re: 500e LH module, capacitor replacement. Apparently the sl suffers the same gremlin! My car when cold, the fuel lines would thump, and the engine would misfire. I also noticed the relay clicking as well, and when engine idle increases, it stops. I pulled the green relay and the engine shut off. When relay circuit was jumped, terminals #30 and 27, the pumps ran. Terminal 86 I think, had 12volts ignition switch is turned to 2nd position. So i installed a fog lamp relay (30amps), and wired it into the relay sockets of the car. It runs beautifully!! I also ordered the 100 and 22uf capacitors, and will install them myself. Question tho...will the 92 LH module with wot, work on my car???

So, should I replace the capacitors in this unit also, I mean wont they fail@ some point??Ditto what Gerry andJlaaDuhVinci said above.
What part number is your LH module that has failed capacitors?
My car being 93, doesn't have mot upgrade?? Or is it just for 91??Cheers and welcome!
As Gerry mentioned, indeed it will work. I have 95 SL500, running WOT LH module from 1992 500SEL

mot? If you mean wot, none of R129 had those optioned modules to my best knowledge . From what I recall, the early, CIS cars actually were rated at the higher hp than LH, but wot never given to R129, at least not in US market…

Those original frako capacitors will all fail eventually.
It depends - you need to check the part number on the module currently installed. If you didn't buy the car new in 1993, there's no way to tell if if a previous owner or mechanic replaced the module in the past.
US-spec model year 1993 cars DID NOT come from the dealership with the WOT-enabled LH module. That was only found in the US on 1992 model year cars. If you provide the part number of the LH module that you have, we can tell you whether it is WOT-enabled or not. Or, you can check the part number yourself in the Wiki entry here, relating to computer part numbers.
