Moderator edit: For those who don't memorize BMW codes, GS6-53BZ is a ZF six-speed manual transmission.
No idea where to put this so it will go here for now.
I am bringing home a 1993 W124 400E this week with fuel issues but a very clean interior and straight exterior.
I've already sourced the GS6-53BZ as I had planned on using it for my super turbo diesel project which I am now parting ways with. I also have the pedal assemblies from the 5speed swap from said project.
I've been reviewing the various conversion kits for the M113K and have narrowed down on a few options.
There are a handful of M113K available in my area.
I've also been looking at various ECU options for some time. The upside of using the V8 W124 is that the engine bay is bigger, the steering box is better situated, the tunnel is wider. The downside of the V8 W124 is the electronics. I've gotten pretty comfortable at this stage with the canbus and feel like there is a decent chance of hacking my way into a solution, but that still seems daunting with little information about the message headers and IDs.
Anywho. Pics to come.
