Aftermarket E500E A/C System Parts

In recent weeks, I have acquired the following aftermarket A/C system parts for my 1994 E500.

The compressor is covered in a different thread, but I thought folks would be interested in these components, mainly for reference. These components may have applications with non-E500E W124 models, as well.

RECEIVER-DRIER

No-name part, sold via eBay as a "Hansa" unit. No label or other identifying mark.
Box label has a proper MB E500E part number (124 830 03 83) pasted ON TOP of a label that designates the part as an 02 83 unit, intended for other W124 models. My best guess is that this was labeled by the seller (likely delibrately) as an E500E part.

Mahle-Behr branded unit, sold via typical European parts mail order for the E500E. Box and unit have labels. Made in Taiwan.
This is also a generic W124 (02 83) part that was labeled for E500E application by the manufacturer, with them perhaps not knowing that the E500E application is slightly different.

SYSTEM CONTROL PRESSURE SWITCH

Behr Hella unit, sold via typical European parts online sellers. Made in Taiwan. Applicable to many W124 applications.
This is the pressure switch that send a signal to the BM to control the compressor.

FAN CONTROL PRESSURE SWITCH

"ACM Germany" product. Sold through most typical European aftermarket parts houses.
This is the red-body switch that screws into the receiver-drier, and controls low-speed fan activation.
NOTE THAT THIS UNIT HAS THE MB STAR ON THE RED BODY. MB part number 004 820 68 10

"ACM Germany" product, possibly? made in China. Sold through most typical European aftermarket parts houses. MB part number 140 830 04 84.
A re-boxed Egelhof branded unit. This is located to the left of the brake booster underhood and under the windshield area on the E500E.5B30B7A9-0A66-4A34-9904-305DEDFAA333.jpeg 309C9DFD-C697-454C-BEC3-C6F4C6725DAD.jpeg EFE50D78-C12A-41B7-8445-1DFAE9F9D750.jpeg 9814EA80-73E5-42AA-8ABD-FF30B717A015.jpeg B8296F4F-2B4B-499D-94D1-9616E4089EAD.jpeg 988FA99A-6B40-42F4-809F-AC567E84AEFC.jpeg

Gerry, it appears that both of those receiver/driers are for non-V8 models. The angle between the fittings looks incorrect, but a photo from the top looking down would confirm. I suspect the vendor (or, mfr) wrongly assumed the same part fits all 124's, but the V8 drier is not the same.

Where did you source the ACM parts, btw? They appear to be OE/OEM.

You didn't let me finish organizing and annotating the photos after I uploaded them. Please re-read the original post for more information.

The ACM parts were both sourced from FCP Yurro.

I just purchased one of these expansion valves for my W210 from FCP euro. Same manufacturer as Gerry's, in a box labeled REIN automotive.

Made in France.

Note the Behr-Mahle-Hella switch is made in Taiwan. MB # 124-820-83-10, dealer MSRP $72, discount ~$55, vs... $10 for Behr-Taiwan at FCP.

I bought a new OE one last summer but IIRC there was no COO on the OE switch? Update: The new OE switch is made by TRW and has the MB Star logo and part #, but there is no COO on the switch or the package.

If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
