All 124 4 door sedan door panels the same? E500E special?

The door panel 124-720-61-70 is listed in the EPC as fitting, it seems, the left front door for every W124 4 door sedan except the 036 E500E (see images below). It fits the 034 400E, for example. Is there something special about the 500E door panels? Why would they not be interchangeable?

I'm talking about the underlying door panel, not the insert, which can be either vinyl or leather, or the door pocket, which can have a speaker grill or not, or the arm rest. Just the underlying door panel.

A while back, I parted out a 95 E420 which had nice door panels and installed one of the fronts into my 500e, it was identical, except for the fact it was parchment and my interior was cream beige. I ended up removing it and installing a panel from another car I parted out (93 300e). All of the panels were identical and interchanged with the 500e just fine.

The door panels are all the same physical size, but there are at least 3 different materials available... velours, MB Tex (imitation leather) and leather.

The part number you searched for is MB Tex, which was not offered in the 036 chassis. It also was not offered in USA on the 034 chassis, but still appears in the .034 parts list in USA, which is an EPC error.

The part number for leather would be A1247208962. Why does it show up twice in the search results list? Because the part number is listed twice for any chassis which spanned pre+post facelift, and there is a different footnote for pre vs post facelift, as the 4-digit color codes are different between them. Footnote 831 is through 1993 USA model year, 840 = as of 1994 USA model year. Chassis which did not span the facelift (for example the .090, .290, .128 in USA) will only show in the results list once.

OK Neo, quit showing off...

Yeah, it was a major deal when @gsxr started (properly and appropriately) using the term "mushroom" where it was warranted, in referring to interior colors. This was several years back. I asked around about this, and @The Emperor mentioned in a PM that he force-lightninged gsxr to "persuade" him to use the correct terminology.
