• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

Been absent for a while, had a mild heart attack, which, if nothing else, proves I have a heart.
Doctor said that if I do not give up pizza and fondue (and a litany of other things) I'll be dead by 65 (I will be 60 in May).
I attempted to negotiate by offering to only give up fondue in exchange for dying at 73. Figured I'd renegotiate at a later date. She was not amused.
Oh well, it could happen to anyone.
The bright side is that there's an added incentive to finish projects and/or give up on some.
Keep Joanna's email address handy because after I am planted she has no desire to keep the treasures. In fact, I'd be surprised if I were even cold before she get's rid of the stuff.
Kind Regards,

Ron

Good to hear that it was a mild one and that you are under medical supervision. Please take care of yourself, best wishes and a complete recover!

Figures that this is the first thread I read after some time of absence. Good luck shedding some back habits, though you have the best incentive in the world so should all work out well. You take care there now!

Ron , please do not give anyone here the pleasure of rummaging thru your stuff, so take good care of your health and listen to Joanna for once !

Ron,
We are all passionate about 500Es here, BUT they don't begin to compare to life lived through relationships.
Someone said, " The quality of one's life is directly proportionate to the quality of his relationships."
Take care of Joanna and yourself and we will pray for you.

Ron, Joanna now has my cell #. Tell her to file it away so I can have back whatever is transplanted from the Shatner car into whatever project it goes into.

Welcome back! Rest up!

THANK YOU to everyone for their kind words. It's certainly a wake-up call.
And an extra thank you for the prayers. Most appropriate this time of year.
But since I didn't die, this tells me that not even God wanted me.... I can't win.
Kind Regards,

Ron Scoma

Ron. I was wondering what had happened to you. Take care and remember protein and veggies. As a recovering ice creamaholic I know how hard it is to give up fat and carbs. My best.

+1. That's good advice. Perhaps a GFCF diet might be in order. Think about it! Stay well. G

Very sorry to hear that, Ron. FWIW I had an infection from an abcessed tooth that forced me to have my mitral valve replaced in 1997 (right out of the blue, healthy as a horse). Therefore, I know EXACTLY how that can take the wind right out of a guy's sails. I cant say enough about the level of skill, compassion, and expertise the medical staff I dealt with possessed, and I know cardiac care has come MILES since they did the sternum-stretch on me. You are in good hands; follow their advice, and we look forward to you posting here for years to come..... :-)

Ron.....guys with your sense of humor tend to live longer than the rest of us grumpy old men. You got plenty of good years left in you, at least I hope so, because I enjoy every post you put on this board!

Live long and prosper :oldman:

Ron, you got to stay active as much as possible, just like the engine being a large pump you need to pump some energy into you and that requires to be active. You are too young to be experiencing this, so let's hope you never have to go though this again. Rest up and take it easy.
