For $339 or $400 or whatever, I'll keep my ancient, flakey, melty and unreliable 124 fuse box and check + rotate my fuses on occasion as needed.

Not sure that a "modification" like this would help the value of my car when it (someday) passes on to the next owner. And, I've got such a major investment in spare OEM ceramic-body Flosser copper and brass torpedo fuses (bricks upon bricks of them in my parts stash, most NLA these days) that it would be difficult to give this up.

Those were some awesome adjectives, though -- ancient, flaky, melty and unreliable !!!

Looks great .But!! The screw connector are only welded on the pcb Board.Maybe the torosion from the cabels.difficult .but the rest is good. and the faceplate has been better in black coulor.

Certainly an interesting idea, doesn't really seem worth it at all though. Fuses give out but the cost of replacing those will surely never surpass $300 plus.

making a modern approach is certainly a welcome idea. There may be a good market for this at some point. What are other improvements or ideas are you working on for the 124/126/140....

HI! I'm with www.holygraillabs.com!

We are excited to be launching our first product for the MB community. Your ideas, feedback, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We are hard core car enthusiasts like many of you and love the human communities around our cars as much as the cars themselves.

Some notes on the comments above:

- Price - We wish high-quality products were less expensive to engineer, test, and produce too!
- Screw connectors - They are securely affixed to the PCB with through-holes.
- Color - The photos you see on our website are of a pre-production unit. The production boards and case will be black.

Once we get the W124 product shipping we plan on focusing on other MB chassis like the W123 and W201. We'd love feedback on where we should put our energy next.

Cheers!

Looks great! I'll definitely consider after the finishing touches are done and there's a production unit pictured.

I run into problems with these often. Not difficult to sort out, but definitely annoying with the aluminum (or whatever they are) fuses oxidizing. But blade fuses are literally everywhere. If you get in a pinch, this makes solving it way easier.

Please consider the W126 also! 🙂

Something that might be worthwhile - moving the blower motor fuse into here too. It's 30A I think? Kind of a flat fuse. When W124 was new, it was a regular torpedo fuse [25A] - then they made the cars with it external [30A]. There was a service bulletin for older W124 that moves it out of the fuse box and into it's own line with a clamshell cover.
