Hello gang! As the title is self explanatory, I wanted to let you know that he left the business last Friday. Anthony let me know that promo codes and such are still in tact. The parts manager that has taken the position will be calling me soon to discuss what we have done in the past and get acquainted. While I certainly expect things will continue, Mujo (pronounced MOO-YO) has quite a history with both BMW and MB within the Autonation network. So best wishes to Bob for his years of service and I will keep you abreast of any changes after I have the pleasure of talking with Mujo.

If you call up there, I have had great success with Anthony in parts. He is not the bossman, it is someone else but I still get my shipping code applied when I tell him to take care of it. I place the order then send an email with the order number and my code as a gentle reminder. so far so good.

A year later and they still can't restore the "Promo Code" field that had been there since day 1?

I wonder if they understand how much business they've lost because of this. Aye caramba.

Yes Anthony is a nice person to work with. Having to call him to arrange shipping promo can still be a hassle though. Last week I placed an order with MBOnlineParts.com and actual shipping was 35% less than website with no State tax added to total which makes up for the bulk of the freight cost. In some cases I am sure no out of State tax is a bigger savings.

I don’t know why folks continue to use them when better alternatives exist ….
I’ve been alternating between mbpartscenter [MB of Scottsdale, AZ] and mboemparts [MB of Naperville, IL] for years as they seemed to be significantly lower cost than my local dealers. It seems recently mbpartscenter is requiring signatures on their packages. I don’t have the ability to twiddle my thumbs around the house all day waiting for fedex so I’m open to suggestions.

Who are you using ?

Well, I do local pickup of orders at my local dealer, www.getmercedesparts.com

Not everyone has that luxury of a local pickup from an Internet dealer with good prices, but at least I don’t have to pay any shipping cost. I do pay 6% Maryland sales tax, but I’d likely pay that regardless. It’s worked for me.

Try the links below. Laredo will adjust ship charges if the cart calculator is showing some crazy amount, but you need to email them before placing the order. Most of the time the S&H is ok. Covington tends to have higher ship costs. I've been using Laredo most of the time.

Laredo has been using USPS. I just ordered the fuel pump line and shipping was $8.29. I don’t think they could ship via FedEx for that price unless they are pricing some of the shipping costs into the price of the part.

Correct. I received a small order from Laredo a few weeks ago and it was shipped USPS Ground Advantage. I don't mind the ship method, but the packing job was poor... single piece of tape across the box was barely holding it closed. Thankfully no items were missing.

:relieved:
