Busted seat heater rocker switch holders....need ideas

Hey dooooodes

Listen, my car is showing its age now with them little black plastic carriers that are stapled onto the back of the shifter console that hold in the seat heater switches....both of them are now broken.

I got new ones but not sure how to attach them....JB Weld? Super or Gorilla glue? Anyone replace theirs?...curious how I am going to get this done.

Definitely no need to throw down $500 for a new burl cover that won't match. 8-) I might have done that before I was married without 2 kids tho....that I will admit.

Ugh, I knew someone would want pix !

I have yet to take the console apart until I know what I will be using to fix it.

There's a TSB with tiny little screws to help re-attach, I think? I'd also consider trying to use the staples, and/or some epoxy that can bond wood to plastic. I can dig up the part numbers if you need 'em, should be in the EPC. I'm not positive they will work though. Do the new plastic carriers have screw holes?

:detective:

I like PC 7 two part epoxy. That's the stuff that comes in the two small cans. I have had very good results with it even on hard to join plastic. As in a 124 light housing. I suggest roughing up the back surface of both pieces with a file or gouge and drilling some small holes in the plastic carriers for the epoxy to enter. A couple of those tiny screws Dave mentioned as well for good measure if the thickness is there.

Jimbo, can you post part numbers for the plastic switch holders. Mine are functional but cracked and I would like to add them to a future parts order. Thanks!
