C140 no access to boot/trunk due to owner blunder

I'd like to pick the clever forum minds.

I locked the boot/trunk lid with the battery negative terminal disconnected. The key doesn't turn the lock barrel. It won't open even though the barrel pushes in. The fuse to power the electric release in the boot/trunk, I think, if I have read WIS correctly.

Is there a non-destructive way to gain access? The key opens the doors and I have access to the engine bay.
