Classic Hoovy Facepalm - buys a 450SEL 6.9

I think this is his second one. I remember him having a Euro 76 from the forums (before he was on TV). He sold it to a fellow in Houston who also bought a 76 parts car from me

This one appears to be a US car with Euro bumpers (which explains the lack of rust)

Some of the info in this video seems unfamiliar.

Hoovy is still a thing? How about that!

:watchdrama:
I've watched a lot of his - and other similar youtubers - content, but somehow lose interest as soon as they stat dealing with x amount of supercars and hypercars - anyone can buy whichever car and do whatever is needed to it when budget is no longer an issue, and such approaches are just one big yawn to watch in my opinion. One of the last of his videos that I did see mentioned "going back to his roots" though, so we are probably not the only ones who lost interest.

And yes, him showing off his new wife in all of his videos is neither enough to get back to what made his earlier videos more interesting.

Exactly this. I watched his channel in the early days when he had much less money and they were enjoyable. Then the money and "dumbest" channel dancing around started and I had to unsub it got so bad so quick.

Yeah he's been on peach parts for as.long as I have (around 2004) and was a teenager at the time he joined. That's when the forum was called Mercedes shop.
He also attended one of the Centerville gathering in the white R107 Euro 500 that his grandmother gifted him.

@gerryvz it might have been one of the ones you attended.

Old(ish) news but Hoovie has now taken over Car Wizard's unit and intends to continue the business now that Car Wizard has moved to New Mexico.

What could go wrong...? :tvhappy:

This didn't seem worthy of its own thread to me.
sadly everything, i remember watching him when he had just finished the 996 ls conversion. its been a downhill spiral ever since 2018. I've watched his recent stuff. The w198 acquisition was interesting, but all of his 90s era car stuff is pretty much performative now. Multiple r129s , and other legends have been through his channel, and he never seems to actually care about the cars he does have save for the r107, and maybe the w198(and that's a strong property tax on his childhood dream car maybe). Its like every other season he gets rid of his "dream car", but that's an issue with automotive youtubers in general (shmee150 isn't the best but at least he holds on to some of his cars longer, for whatever that's worth. We're gonna ignore Tavarish, and his p1 "build" while we're at it). The JDM community is starting to follow this trend too, and its quite sad to see.
