Coolant Hose "Kit?"

I'm pretty sure all the coolant hoses on my 420 are oe. They're pretty crusty around the ends and seeping, but not outright leaking. What are the things to prepare for when doing them? I'm assuming fan clutch, water pump, and if you're there, may as well do chain guides and oiler tubes... Just how deep does this rabbit hole go?

You can easily do just the hoses. There are not many of them and generally they are easy to get to for replacement.

Really you have the upper radiator hose, the lower radiator hose, and the thermostat elbow hose. You could also do the short large intake manifold hose, and the hose from the radiator to the coolant expansion tank. And the coolant expansion tank to the fender coolant overflow tank.

That’s all. I wouldn’t make the job more complicated than it needs to be.

If you do want to make it complicated, then please read my M119 Top-End Refresh thread. That will get you into a rabbit hole that it will take you many weeks to extract yourself from. The only reason I have not finished yet is that I have been gravely ill for the past 8-9 days, sadly. I was able to muster the strength yesterday to take my dog for a walk for the first time in days. It was a milestone for me.
