Febi Wheel Bearing Grease

I tend to go through quite alot of the MB wheel bearing grease which is the luminous green smoo that comes in tubes.

This can be any time I am cleaning, repacking & adjusting bearings or for bearing replacement. I try to keep a couple tubes on the shelf but never seem to have enough when I need it. I did some digging on the interwebs and bought half dozen of these:

Note this Febi grease is made in Germany and in the same glow in the dark green colour as MB. I believe this is identical to what you get in the MB dealership except it was less than half price on ebay VS going to the dealer.

Thought might be worth letting members know if you tend to do alot of your own bearing servicing etc.

My local dealer is about £17 a tube last time I got some.

Great info, JC220! Here's Febi links for the colonies, ~$6 USD:

Dealer smoo, ~$8 USD:

JC220 - you may want to buy these bigger, better value, tubes.

I would not be surprised if Fuchs make the stuff for MB.
Thanks for that Stegel! Looks like it may be the same green smoo.

Actually the Febi Grease is very good value. One tube will do a pair of front wheel bearings. For USA members you are SOOO lucky to have MB parts discounters. With the prices Gixer qouted there is no advantage for you to use the Febi grease. But where our dealers are expensive here it makes sense.

This is exactly the MB green grease. I have purchased several of the grease-gun tubes of it for my G-wagen.
Gerry, is there any known source in the USA for this stuff, at a reasonable price? I can't seem to find it. £9/tube is a bargain for UK folks.

Nope, have never found it in the US. I had to get it overseas. Let me find the info - it was on a G-wagen forum.
