I still consider it an absolute shame that the palomino interiors didn't survive the entire chassis run, to be mated with the .6, pano roofs, etc. I love this color combo, but I'm not willing to do another 4 speed transmission to get it. Did these start in first or second gear?

On their Facebook page they state:

The car was changed to post-facelift appearance with the turn signal lenses, wheels, and model badge on the trunk. These features will be returned to original prior to the sale.

Second gear.

Someone was too anxious to get it listed, and couldn't wait a few days to make the car right before doing a photo shoot. I expect better from MBCC.

Probably waiting for parts....

Generally MBCC only “presents” cars for sale when they feel they are 100% done and ready for immediate sale.

They don’t market cars that are half-finished.

Technically the blue plates are not period correct. The original owner must have had them transferred from his prior car.

Additionally, the tires should either be Pirelli P600 or the Michelin XGT? No they were MXM The tread pattern does not look correct for either. I should offer them a set of Pirelli P600s!

Apparently they made an exception this time.

WOW!!

Brand new OLD STOCK. Did somebody just put this car in a vacuum bottle and store it?

This car has been setting around for 26 years. How much of Gerry's deferred maintenance would turn up if you elected to make this a driver and just run the wheels off of it?

I would expect a collector would want to buy it. Unfinished is really not a good description for this car. That's just Micky Mouse stuff. MBCC will make that right in a heartbeat.

Meh. I disagree. If you are asking 75k, it ought to be perfect, and perfectly original. And now that I think about it, if its being offered by MBCC, it should be perfectly original regardless of the asking price. I feel like the assumption in buying from a place like that is that you are getting a 100% spec car, and if not, it should be clearly stated in the ad up front, and not in response to viewer comments after the fact.

Just my $0.02.

Oh... and another nit. Where is the window sticker that they are also advertising for sale in the same advertising email that was sent out? Its unfortunate that it is missing, as it would clearly contradict their claims there that the sticker they are currently selling is the correct one for the period.

LOL! Indeed, going from memory, it could have had Pirelli P600, Michelin MXM (still my favorite tire ever made in this size), European Uniroyal Rallye 340 or 440 I forget which, Continental CZ90, Dunlop SP Sport D3 or D90 forget which of those, too .
We had terrible problems and complaints with all except the Michelin and the Continental...

I am kind of tearing up looking at that magnificent Pilot HX MXM, the all time best 16” 129, 124.036, 140 tire in the history of earth. There hasn’t been anything as good before or since, which is asolutely pathetic. And now, there are fewer choices than ever...
