FOR SALE FS: 1994 E60 AMG, Silver/Black, 104,000km, $25k EUR (Finland)

Hello everyone,

A 1994 W124 E60 AMG for sale with approximately 104k km's / 64.5k miles on the clock.

The car is an original E60 with the correct 957 option code so it's not converted later on. A copy of datacard attached below from which You can verify this and You can check the other options the vehicle has. Feel free to double check the VIN if in doubt. :)

VIN = WDB1240361C078831

The vehicle in question is originally sold to Germany in a city called Landau from where it has been shipped to Japan in 1997 and now to Finland.

The car is not collector / museum quality if You will as it has been driven over 100k km's so there's bound to be a few stonechips etc. here and there. Lacquer has a few faded areas (in my opinion this is the worst problem the car has) and the headliner is sagging from couple of places due to heat / humidity in Japan - headliner is not ripped though. Headlight reflectors are not in good condition but I don't see this as an issue as the headlights will have to be changed to LHD anyways. All of the issues the car has are visible in the pictures and I'm trying to depict the car as it is with the good and with the bad to avoid any misunderstandings and / or disappointments.

More pictures available at: http://photobucket.com/W124E60

Also as the car is originally German-spec it appears that the trunk lid may not be correct for the car as it has a short-plate version trunk lid instead of the long one.

Asking price is 25k eur which includes customs duties and VAT paid in Finland i.e. should be good for any EU-country. If Your country has any car tax which needs to be paid on top of the price this is not included but You need to take care of this. Naturally shipping is something You need to take care of unless You choose to drive the car from Finland to Germany for example. I can help with shipping arrangements if needed and I can pick up a prospective buyer from Turku, Helsinki or Tampere airport or Turku / Helsinki port if required, not a problem at all. I can also drop You back there in case You don't buy the car :)

If You are interested You can reach me on jarno.k.lahti ( at sign ) gmail.com or on 358 4I 753 4653

Hello Jarno,

Your car sounds interesting, but a good thing is to add the pics into the thread. In my case I don't have access to open any internet photo hosting on my work computer, and I'm probably not the only one around with such firewalls at work.

The E60's are special cars drawing great attention, but it is recommended to list the VIN, service & history & owners records.

I look forward to the pics, thanks.

service & history & owners records.

No disrespect, but this I've yet to see on ANY ex Japan car! Always low miles but conveniently records missing. Please say I'm wrong with this one :shocking:

Hello,

VIN is visible in the datacard attached below the picture of the car. Anyways for copy&Paste convenience the VIN is WDB1240361C078831 .

I tried to be courteous to the users of the board and did not attach multiple pictures to the thread but a link instead. As attaching pictures to the thread appears to be accepted here, pictures below for reference. There are more than 100 pictures @ photobucket link so I didn't attach all of these here but just a few. I believe most of people have access to photobucket though?

No pun taken :)

I don't have the service records from Japan for this car unfortunately. However how it works in Japan is that the local DMV equivalent will record odometer reading when the car is tested and in case there are discrepancies i.e. newer test result indicates lower odometer reading than previous one this is marked as a discrepancy - in case of the car in question nothing like this has been indicated. That being said the odometer reading is correct to my best knowledge however I can't prove the odo-reading.

Of course it's of no consolation to missing records but cars in Japan are very, *very* often low-mileage and thus low mileage is not really that exceptional for cars originating from Japan. This of course sounds like a guy who is selling his car is coming up with all kinds of explanations for the mileage but anyone can feel free to check this from Jap-auction sites.

Thanks for the VIN. :-)

Photobucket, as well as all other photo hostings, is not available on my work computer. I'll have to view the pics on my home PC tonight.

Cheers

Re: '94 W124 E60 AMG for sale

Remove the last digit 4 from the provided VIN as it appears that's an extra digit for some reason and it's not in the car documents but only in the datacard copy I have. Sorry for the inconvenience :(

So the correct VIN is WDB1240361C078831

Thanks for the VIN. :-)

Jarno, you're ok don't worry. This is not the first ex japan car in question. It's just that I haven't come across with one that has records or verified mileage and it's been a question of mine countless times when it comes to cars from Japan. Could it be just as simple as "culturally, Japanese owners don't keep maintenance records" ? Or is that too simple?

Re: '94 W124 E60 AMG for sale

That's what I have heard from few guys: Japanese are not interested in keeping maintenance records or past maintenance, but they are more interested in when the next maintenance / MoT test is. Slightly paradoxical though :)

Of course this can't be generalized though.

This is why forum members should ALWAYS upload photos to the forum and NEVER link to Photobucket, or any other image hosting service. Now that the owner of the photos removed them, they are gone forever.

I managed to dig a single photo out of Google cache (attached).
