FOR SALE FS: 500E/E500, 400E/E420 Exhaust Support Bracket **RARE**

I am selling a front exhaust support bracket for the 500E/E500, and the 400E/E420. This metal bracket attaches the front portion of the exhaust system (ahead of the catalytic converts) to the transmission.

The part number is 124 492 46 41, and the cost of the bracket new from MB is $236 (discounters are selling for $177). It's a pretty rare part and is specific to the .036 and the .034 models (V-8 W124s).

The part is discussed in this thread. Its price has skyrocketed in the past two years.

This one was removed from a 1993 400E. It is in VG+/EXC- condition, with no scratching or scraping on the painted metal surface of the bracket itself. The paint is scraped off around the two bolt holes where the bracket attached to the exhaust system, but this is of no consequence to the overall condition of functionality of the part, and is normal wear for something that has been previously installed on a vehicle.

The part has been cleaned and is ready to install.

$90 postage paid anywhere in the US.

Cheers,
Gerry

I've missed several of these things over the past few years at salvage yards, because I totally forgot about them. D'oh!!

Seriously Uncle Gerry, just cause MB is gouging the market, doesn't mean we need to. That's a $55 part, max. With shipping.

That's not for you to judge.

Between my time, 40 miles of driving to/from the yard, and the cost of the part to me I've got a good $45 into it as it stands. Plus $13 priority mail shipping. That's not a lot of profit.

If someone needs it, great. If not, I'll keep it in my parts collection.
