MBDirectparts shows it as not available.

You can also hit up Jono. He makes new ones ......

As the @gsxr likes to repeat endlessly (and with merit), you CANNOT just rely on Revolution/aftermarket parts web sites as the "authority" on whether a part is available or not. Note that the first Revolution site that I quoted above, which is MB Naperville, shows the part as available. Then @Stevester 500E's Revolution parts sites shows it as discontinued.

The closest thing that there is to an authority on the availability of a part or not, save for going to a dealership and having them check Paragon, is the MB Classic Parts site, which is the SECOND link that I pasted above.

I'll paste the link again: https://partssearch.mercedes-benz-classic.com/parts/A1245402730?tt=automatic

The MB Classic parts site is showing that this part is AVAILABLE. If you call your dealership (or visit them) and ask them about this part number, then can likely confirm that it is or isn't available -- or whether there are parts in the US warehouses, or in Germany.

The third authority would be to e-mail Tom Hanson at the Classic Center. He can also look at Paragon and see if it is avaialble for order or not.

However, I'll as a general guide go with what MB Classic Parts says, which I posted above.

Chers,
Gerry

+1 with Gerry. Last I heard, these were available again, but some websites may still show "discontinued"... they don't always update when something becomes "un-NLA". Gotta call a dealer and ask them to check inventory worldwide.

If the last batch is gone (again) with Paragon codes indicating permanent NLA (not backorder), then Jono can rebuild an old one to as-new condition or better for roughly the same cost.

:jono:

Shipping to the midwest or east coast from MB Parts Pros -- despite their greater than 31% discount -- is going to be $25-30, putting them above the MB Naperville total with the free shipping. Note also that MB Naperville doesn't charge sales tax; I don't know if MB Parts Pros does or not.

In any case, compare carefully, as the free shipping (up to $75 cost) is a GREAT perk that allows MB Naperville to beat many of the other online vendors who don't offer our forum the free shipping.

Cheers,
Gerry

Are these a regularly perishable item?
Yes, the lower harness degrades just like the upper harness. Here was evidence of the degradation in mine at 64k miles just before it was replaced...

If it hasn't been done in the last 15 years, there's a 95% chance it needs to be done. It is a "one and done" job, though.

Not to be rude, but I can offer the price reflected in earlier posts in this thread; $264 + shipping to Norway.

These are still available new from your favorite dealer, or online dealer...

That's a rebuild/repair service, correct? You send in a core and Kurth resurrects it?
Looked to me like an outright purchase price with new type of silicon cables
Please see attached screenshot

If they are selling what is shown in that photo, that is NOT the full harness!! It's PART of the harness!!! Looks like they are offering it as a "repair kit"?

The full harness is shown below, note there are multiple other wires/terminals missing in the Kurth harness. Also, the wire lengths are incorrect!!! I hope that's not what they are selling as a repair kit for 124-540-27-30.

Oh dear!
Strange, the Germans are normally quite good with their replacement parts
I'll send them a message & see what they reply
