Here are the rules:
  1. Only one entry per person (cost of entry is PayPal to kondilas@ieee.org using F&F option $5) and your submitting a price to this thread enters you into this game
  2. Entry must be submitted to this thread NLT Tuesday, September 22 at 4:59Ppm ET (6 days prior to the ending of this listing)
  3. Entry is (1) the hammer price at which you think this auction will end and (2) if the car will RNM
  4. The winner is the person who is (1) closest to the selling price (exclusive of BaT fees) without going over and (2) indicates if the car meets the seller's reserve
  5. The first person to claim a certain price and RNM status owns that slot. Duplicate bids will be discarded and the original will be maintained
  6. Additional people wanting to submit at the same level have the option of bidding $0.01 higher or lower (essentially boxing the first bidder)
  7. Any user can submit $0.01 as a bid if they believe all bidders are over the hammer price.
The new dimension of indicating if the car will meet the seller's reserve allows two people to bid a similar price as long as they do not choose the same auction outcome. For instance, if @gerryvz chooses $100K and RNM and @Klink chooses $100K and Reserve met, there will be a single winner assuming they are the closest to the hammer price without going over.

Feel free to ask questions as we refine this game.

Good luck!

Robert

I hope this sells for enough to satisfy Albert the builder/seller. He put so much effort into this build, spending time refining the panel gaps and perfecting the paint. But this is a hard sell because it's not stock.

Plus one to that

He put great workmanship into the car no doubt about that. The wing mirrors etc are not to everyone's taste though.

You can spend a pile on a car and devalue it at the same time in a way.....

PS is it just me or is that custom paint job cracked in this photo?

If so I presume it would be very difficult if not impossible to match that custom paint properly after the fact.

The listing mentions a scratch near the fuel filler door...

It's just a very odd looking scratch to me. Looks like it's got a raised effect to it VS a regular scratch in the laquer which wouldnt look like that IMO. Maybe just the camera angle or lighting

It must have a branded title too since that car was hit at the front before and he fixed it

Comment section clarifies that the crack in the paint was due to a dent, which was popped out, but the paint cracked. Bummer.

I can't believe the hate being spewed in the comments. Seems to be a higher percentage of muppets in the peanut gallery, than typical. Why don't they go over to the Brabus car and shred it for making false and unsubstantiated claims? Or ignoring that the (alleged) Brabusmobile is 50-state emissions illegal?

HI Folks. I actually got carried away and missed putting a guess in. :-/

Bidding is now closed.

Many of the muppets making comments are irrelevent has-beens and/or non/never E500E owners.

What blows me away is the 180-degree (Biden-esque) flip-flop in the tonality of the comments by @UnhingedTroll between this car and the recent Brabus 500E. One full of bile, the other professing artichoke-heart love for the car. Go figure.

Ok. So we have our first case of every expected hammer price was over. So here are the options I see for the three contestants (@kiev, @JAB12, & @gerryvz):
  1. Award the pot to the closest guess
  2. Roll over the pot to the next game
  3. Return the funds to the participantS
If there is another option the participants are interested in, please let me know.

Robert

+1 on option 2. So does that suppose that for next game we would have to pay another $5 entry fee? I don’t mind just want to be clear on rules. Thank you.

Ok that is fine. Suggestions of expanding the game to other auctions? Ebay, RM, Hemmings etc.?
