I think the time is now for a potential 500E buyer who is sitting on the fence to make their purchase. It appears we are starting to see values of good 500Es slowly increase...

Bottomline: Take care of & enjoy your car. Buy another one. Move to sell (if desired) after MB Corporate unveils 500E 20th anniversary promotions. Legends grow over time. The market should be looking for the Legend. :e500launch:

...speaking of making a purchase; If I were 1000 miles closer, I would be negotiating hard for this stock beauty RIGHT NOW...

oh man. oh man. this frightens me, as a non-owner. 20th anniversary...hmmmm will it bring recognition and price increase I wonder? yikes. what a cool car.

I may have to form a company around a e500e as an integral component and write it off.

In Boston there seems to be a new company again trying to rent exotics....Lambos, Ferraris, etc. Not a new idea, but this company seems to be new.

I think some groups from this message board and others should take an approach similar to the Hunt brothers trying to corner the silver market and corner the 500e market. Who's in?

The funny thing is I don't think people here care about the value!!! These cars are drivers!!! Cheap is better!!! As a group we can manipulate the market to bring prices lower....and we'll all get to drive mint 500e's for under 10k. Yeah, that's it.......

I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere....but approx. how many are on the road in North America of about 1500 total? Any good guess'? Half? 750 x $XXXXX.00. I'm going to do this myself :-). I just bought chunk light tuna instead of solid white to start.

There were only 1500 originally brought into the US.
I'd be surprised if there were 750 still intact in NA.

I believe that approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of all 1,505 US imported cars are still on the road. This is much higher than in Germany/Europe, where the cars were driven much harder. Here many buyers bought them as third or fourth cars or as investments. There is a large number of E500E owners who are the original owners of their cars and have never sold them, and many never will. Many E500Es out there get very little to no mileage.

Cheers,
Gerry
