Really good video on m119 Bowden cable adjustment on an r129.

A young dude who has a classic V8 benz.

Really cool to see.

The basic concept is similar for all 722.3 transmissions with Bowden cable. The cable should be pulled more for higher shift points, or pulled less for lower shift points. The adjustment is quite sensitive, only tweak it 1-2mm at a time for coarse adjustment, less for fine adjustment.

However, the mechanism shown here on this 119.960 with CIS-E is completely different than the M119.97x engines. I've never seen the weird little yellow star wheel. On the 119.97x the adjustment is made by changing the length of the horizontal linkage rod below the throttle cable at the rear of the intake manifold.
