Grit guard top tip!

This has been bugging me for a long time. Whilst I like using grit guards for functional reasons in my car wash buckets they are a PITA.

The type I have is the most common whereby you attach the lower supports to the guard. But these always fall off and the guard rattles around the bucket. Then when rinsing the dirty water out of the buckets before putting away each time the guards and feet fall out in pieces on the ground.... what a crap design. I thought about gluing them but got a different idea.

Position the guards first so they have a nice tight fit in the base of the bucket. Then mark each one and drill a hole in the 4x feet attachment pieces. Then use zip ties to firmly hold those suckers in place. Perfect!! A grit guard that stays together and firmly at the bottom of the buckets. Even when rinsing them out the guard stays put. A simple change that makes these soooo much nicer to use
