hood (bonnet) insulation

My 500E isn't kept at home, hence this question: I bought a new insulation liner for the engine compartment, the foam sheet that secures to the inside of the hood. Is this material secured by spray adhesive, or by clips? As I said, the car isn't here and I can't remember how it's installed. If anyone else has done this and knows, and can comment on it, I'd appreciate it a great deal. Thank you.

I have a hood pad on order along with other goodies. Last night i removed the old one, or rather, tried to catch all of it. Sheesh, it looked not too bad until i started removing it. The foam underneath was nothing more than than loose dirt waiting to fall down......onto the waiting sheet :)...
