I have this 500 SL 1989
With code 880 CLOSING SYSTEM WITH INFRARED REMOTE CONTROL
The ce tral locking system works with the key pump running opening and locking.
And the pump stoos running quickly after opening and ckosing ao no leaks in pump or system luckely.
But the remote kwys dossent works. But they used to work but you kind of had to get really close to the doors within 5-10 cm.
Both remote keys batteriets changed
CR 2025 and lights can be seen with mobile camera. But distance still very bad an all sensors.
So recently they stooed working completely both remote keys.
So I tried to read out codes on the 16 Pin diagnostic plug. With the analog push botton tool. Ignition on. But nothing happens.
I can't read codes on that Pin but other modules works.
So I oulled out what i think is the module.
Change the capacitors internaly looked it over, and it looks very clean like new.
So how can i proced to diagnostic this isue,
