SOLD Left Hand Headlight Lens for E500

Hi guys,

I purchased a E500 headlight a couple of years ago because I thought I would collect the parts for a facelift. The headlight turned out to be really rotten, but the lens was salvageable.

I recently had the lens refurbished by @simeon40 who replaced the frame with a new chromed one and and re-glued the frame to the glass. In addition, the glass was sanded to remove sandblasting. Results are excellent, with only very minor pitting remaining, so this thing is good to go and ready for install.

With the addition of another car project, I realized that I will very likely never have the space to store all the parts for a facelift (I wanted to have the ability to switch back and forth if I wanted to, which means I would have to store a hood, a trunk and the lights front and back at any given point in time). So it's time to abandon the plan and sell this lens.

Note, this is for right hand side drive [left-hand traffic, i.e. USA/Germany], so it doesn't work for left hand drive countries (England, Japan, Australia, etc.).

Price is $800 plus shipping

I collected the facelift parts as well, minus the facelifted lights, when I had my car resprayed. In hindsight, it was a waste of time and money as I've come to the point where I don't find real significance between the two model years. That Lens came out great!

Ok, last bump to $700 plus shipping. If it doesn’t sell for that then I’ll keep it and have my kid sell it for $5k when the market catches up to that price point in 2069

Tim. Any line on a complete set or internal components and lenses for a E500? Perhaps I need to piece a set together over 5 years, haha. I am interested in this, regardless

No, I just have the one lens, but you can take a set of pedestrian headlights from Automotive lighting that are still being sold new in Europe, remove the cap over the fog light bulb and stick E500 lenses over them and you’re set. Just need the other lens

Thank you @TerryA - I think it was a win/win. The buyer scored a nice part at a good price and I freed up a bit of much needed storage space. I’ve been debating what other parts I can let go to make room. The Fließen front exhaust section might have to go next
