Hi, changing the exhaust system on the 500E, just unscrew the exhaust manifold to downpipes, good it's only two of them, nothing to it, or? one comes lose real fine w the help of a little heat, the other, lower one, oh no not me, the screw
breaks, ok try to losen the left over 1" bit w red glowing heated up ear on manifold well? no it breaks once again.

What to do, take the smallest powerdrill you can find, and luckily it gets bored and fall out, *sigh*
Now as it seems the nut can be ordered to restore the manifold, see #11, you may excuse the blurry pict.

For now I will settle w a bolt all the way trough w a flanged nut,, Roger

Well, as it's in the car i'm happy w this bolt & nut solution, if and when the motor comes out it will be restored, I'm happy not having to remove the manifold from the car, if it's even possible? it's short of working space down there,, Roger
