WANTED Looking for nice driver E500

Not looking for a daily driver, just another toy for the stable. My budget is $20k.

What should I expect for $20,000?
What are the main things to look for? Pitfalls?

I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my toys and meticulous on maintenance.

I've also considered a 560 SEC.

Thanks. I found a beautiful low mile 1993 in Canada but I have no idea how difficult it is to import it to the US. I know the Canadian cars use kilometer gauge. I'd hate to have to change it to mph.

Talk to 2phast about Canadian imports and process .... he's one of the experts on that topic on this board.

The car I found in Vancouver, BC turns out to be a Japanese import, so the search continues.

I know the owner of that car and he is very meticulous. He is selling the 500 to purchase a G Wagen. Too bad that it is Japanese. He told me about that a while ago when he was thinking of selling.

I was ready to fly up and buy the car as soon as I saw the ad. It looks beautiful.

Expensive and not easy to federalised, patchy history & maintenance record (if at all).

I have been toying with the idea of selling mine. Solid car with lots of recent major maintenance done. Everything works and its been a reliable daily driver for the last year.

I have negotiated a purchase. I will post details once I have the car in my possession. Thanks for all the help and info on the board. I'm sure I will be a regular subscriber.
