In the lower console of my E500 some of you may have spotted in the previous photos on my thread that I had a folding mirror switch next to the electric mirror adjustment switch. This is an odd thing to do and I believe on the later E500 there should be a door lock switch here (at least that is the case in europe delivery cars). I suspect this folding mirror switch has been here for a while and it did not illuminate at night so I assumed it was disconnected and either there for show or a previous retrofit of a switch that was never completed.
The later euro E500s came with the door lock switch here so I sourced a door lock switch and went to install it.
To my disappointment there is no wiring for the door lock switch under the centre console, does anyone know whether this is a completely separate loom? It seems like someone removed the from my car, which is weird! It is not listed as an option on my VIN but I thought it would be standard equipment, particularly given its a Limited. I cannot find it on EPC either...
If anyone has more information about this door lock switch and more importantly the loom that would be very helpful so I can get it re-installed like it should have been from factory.
