M104 camshafts - where to source?

Hi all,

My S124 e320 had what sounded like a lifter problem. When the shop stripped it down to inspect, they found 4 lobes on the exhaust cam in bad shape. They are suggesting I replace both camshafts. Can anyone advise me on the best place to go for new camshafts?

Probably look for good used ones at the bone yard. I have never seen M104 camshafts that looked worn at all.

Thanks - mechanics and I were a bit surprised at the amount of wear. Engine has done 250k kms, with oil changed every 10k for past 160kms under my ownership.
