I stumbled across an oddments aka Glock box recently, but I never knew it was, at least in Sweden, sold as a trash bin. The box itself is in great condition with no tears or damage of any kind.

I got a surprise when I opened up the package and found paper inserts for it, obviously to use as bin liners. The seller had a picture from a Swedish accessory brochure where it is listed as a ”Papperskorg” which is directly translated to ”paper basket” but really does mean thrash can, like for the office.

I couldn’t find any markings or text of any kind on the bin liners, so they could be made in Sweden for the Swedish market, I don’t know.

Fun trivia nonetheless and I’m happy I got them. ☺️

I may sell the box, haven’t decided yet.

I have a complete New-in-Box compartment like that on my shelf, originally intended for my W201 - Back when I bought it (in Germany) I seem to remember it was marketed as a "storage box for taxi-drivers" or similar.. I've never seen it referred to as a waste basket myself either, and have never seen those paper liners - very cool find indeed!

This is true, it was blocked in the system for ordering as it was intended for taxi's and police vehicles

So as a fellow drummer, when can I expect shipment of this trash can to Texas, USA?
Took me a couple of seconds to get that reference haha. Both of my garage buddies are in a band and we actually have a little stage too, so that’s the explanation to our coffee table. ☺️ Tuesdays they’re practicing so I can have live music when working on my cars or bikes, something I really appreciate a lot.

I’ve had several queries on buying the box, I’ll let everybody who messaged me know if and when I decide to part with it. I already have one in my car, but who knows if I buy another 124, and I’ll for sure want the box in any car with the passenger airbag.

I use the box for sunglasses, wallet, keys etc so I don’t have to raise the armrest every time I need something. It is a very useful storage box, not just a cool accessory.
