“Glock Box”: Remembering Justin

I was going through boxes in my garage, in search of electrical parts for my R107 and W126, and came across this “Glock Box” - never installed!

Who remembers Justin from Hawaii, back in the 500Ecstasy days... ?

Justin has a green E500 with beautiful Brabus pipes out the back.
He was very active and posted great photos of his car.
Justin sold me this box to attach to my front seat, to make up for lack of storage.
It required a bracket. Justin included part#’s and instructions. I bought the bracket and mounted a halon fire-extinguisher, instead.

The box got shelved, maybe 10 years ago.

Justin died suddenly and tragically, shortly after I received this. He was a always helpful, a true enthusiast. I know his loss was felt by our .036 community.

Inside, I found a short note from him.
Cheers to all

Yes, our member "UberE500". He was pretty much a charter member of this site and was active in the 500Ecstasy days.

A thread that denotes his (too early) passing: Sad News | Off-Topic Discussions

I believe his car was later sold and brought to the US?

Thanks for sharing.
Those were good days, Gerry.

I am rarely on here anymore, but it is still the best .036 site on the planet.

Thanks for keeping it alive.

I am still friends with several people here, four years after selling my car.
I still see a couple of them in person, down the West Coast.

I trust you and the family are well despite Covid.

Best regards,
Sean

I wasn't around here in 2011, but Justin sounds like he was a nice young man.

PS - if you ever wish to sell the Glock Box, I would be honored to be given consideration to buy it.

Sometimes it’s the little things that were touched or written by someone that give a glimpse into their personality and the type of person that they were.

I left the little hand-written sticky notes that my Dad had written and stapled to the outside of the drawers of the workbench that he made, and that I transported coast to coast two summers ago. Those sticky notes in my Dad’s distinctive block letter printing, mis-spellings and all, always bring a smile to my face when I’m grabbing a tool or working on the bench (like on my Top End job).

Thanks for sharing, Sean.

Seems hard to believe that Scott started 500Ex almost 17 years ago. Back in those days, the letters “NLA” were nowhere near the same universe that we operated in.
