Storage Boxes jammed

Before I start removing the boxes I wanted to ask if anyone knows the usual culprit for these jams.
My covers only roll back this far...

The very back slats of wood take a lot of abuse. They have to make the curve around the track and fold back under the box most often. Many of the ones I've removed from junkyards have the last few slats falling off or missing, and I suspect that is what's jamming your box. You will have to remove it, which is simply a matter of removing the 2 forward screws in the front box, or single screw in the rear.

The screws are towards the front of the box, near the wood, at a downward angle. They are small Phillips head screws. Once they are removed, you will likely still have some resistance due to years of sticky liquids spilling or dripping condensation. Don't worry though, just give it a firm tug and it should come free.

A little silicone lube sprayed in the back curved channels where the slats go is not a bad idea to assist a bit with movement...

Btw I've got a black rear box for sale if you can't get yours working again. Less than $695.00 too!

Hi,
mine is jammed, too.
What did you do?
Was is easy?
Will the "glue job" last for a couple of years?
Thanks,
Rudy

I glued mine on the w126, along with a bit of gleitpaste on the curved part of the tracks. That was in 2012 and still in the heat of Texas they hold.
