OE parts - Silver Arrow Brake Upgrade

Does anyone know the availability and part numbers of new OE parts for a Silver Arrow upgrade on a '92? LCA', calipers, rotors and any other parts necessary..

thanks in advance.

LCA is no problem.. Since they are in use on so many other models. Just as rotors and pads.
Calipers I dont know. But will be really, really expensive if they are available.

You MUST upgrade to the late style LCA to use the Silver Arrow brakes.

I would source the LCA's through MBCC to make sure you get real Mercedes parts. There are some cheaper ones out there but I hear they are crap. You want to look for the Cardone rebuilt calipers from a 1999-2000 SL600. I see them on ebay every once in a while. Prices vary greatly but they are not easy to find. Everywhere I've tried lately is out of stock.

What other models and years have the later LCA needed for silver arrow calipers?
I might be willing to buy a used set, as $380 a piece sounds steep.

I would guess only the E500E / E420-400E and the W129 would have the proper master cylinder to work with them but that they might bolt up to all of the W124 models from the 92-93 model year onward with splash shield modification or removal. Or was the 036 the only model that got the LCA change for the larger brakes later?

Buy new LCA's.. Used you will never know the the state of ware on the ball joint. And aftermarked LCA's are so bad quality on that you will probably have to change them in a year or two.

Well later 320 models has the them same with 420 and 500.

Hi DRW,

I probably have everything you need - brakes and LCAs - and will sell at a reasonable price. I bought the brakes years ago and never opened the boxes. I recall the fronts are 334 mm with aluminum calipers, the rears are 300 mm Euro E500 with Euro calipers (bigger piston). Rotors are brand new. At least one pair of rotors are factory drilled, maybe both pairs are - I can't remember.

I'll need to open the boxes and take pictures of what I have.

Trust me, these are brakes that can stop a runaway train.

Please PM me if you are still looking. Thanks.

Best regards,

Tracy Hagen
