Ha. Finally a topic for me. Will keep this updated from time to time.
I bought my car back in 2010 without engine in. But there is a funny story to it:
My car was actually for sale back in 2006 and listed on german car-portal called "Mobile.de". I saved the pictures of that very car back in 2006 on my hard disk. The exact same car i was aquiring 4 years later in 2010. Only in 2011 i did found those pictures in an old Backup of an old Windows Vista System, unaware that i even saved them back in 2006 - my Jaw dropped. By the way look how tiny resolution wise pictures of listed cars were ~10 years ago:

I bought it as a cancelled "Restoration Project" by a eastern german guy that then moved to Austria or Switzerland (dont remember) and sold basically everything.
All the parts were loose and only the main engine already assembled (more or less half-arsed as it turned out later). At this point i had never done more to an engine than a change of spark-plugs on my Ex W201 190E 2.6L. I work in the IT businnes so i have had not much to do with cars besides driving them. Oh well and i once re-soldered all soldering-points in my KPR (Fuel Pump Relay) of that 190E. So with the 500E "Project" i taught myself everything that i know today about cars, engines and so on. Im a complate DIY guy that only very rarely visits any shop. (Today i go so far as to build complete V8 engines and even overhaul cylinder heads).
Cars Milage is unknown. Previous owner claimed like 200.000km, judging by paint and interior it could be less. Instrument Cluster showed like 111.***KM. It had 7! previous owners, all of which were Imigrants from Russia or Turkey judging by their names hahaha. I think it was a true braggarts car back then in the munich area.

The car was somehow not sold in 2006 (i remember the price was really high on that Mobile.de listing) and in 2007 it was de-registered and bought previously by a cars-trader in Munich Starnberg. Actually the first time it was re-registered, was this year 2015 by me for just 3 months/year. The last year were i was the first time really enjoying it with its second engine, on the 2014 500E meet, it was just registered with a 5-day registration, which the german state offeres for test-drives, transfer-drives and so forth.
Not much to say besides "chaos"! These are actual pictures of the barn that car and its parts were stored in. I did not recognized this car, that is was the one i saved the pictures from, 4 years earlier. Its intersting as it was the only 500E i saved pictures of from mobile.de listing back in 2006. I guess i fell in love with the Segin wheels immediately.

So here was the day i bought it from that location in Dresden area:

PLACEHOLDER. Stay tuned.
