Hello,

Here is my 1st 500E from year 1992 with the "redesigned exterior" by previous owner(s).
The vehicle was purchased in Tallinn Estonia from an older gentleman. Before the purchase I checked the basic at my friends Car Service for few hours. As the price was corresponding to the condition, the deal was made. Based on the previous owners words it was brought from Germany to Baltics around 2005. Milage written on the odometer today 235 000 km (unprovable). I already knew then that I have a lot of work to do and finally at least double (even maybe triple) the price later to make vehicle condition compatible to my personal standards. Anyway the plan is to keep the car for a longer period and to restore the most with orig. parts. I might keep the front E500 facelift though....

Works done so far:
* new air flow meter (sorry my english, it might not be the right expression for the spare part )
* change of all oils and filters
* new used 18" Monoblock II rims front 8" and rear 9" ET35 + new tires (rims will be restored next season)
* new 4 wheel bearings
* new rear axle bushings
* new thermostat
* new engine belt tensioner roller
* new engine oil cap
* new driver's side fog light
* new chrome front grille
* new candles

Planned works to near future:
* new hood with painting and hood emblem installation. Previous owners have removed the antenna and hood emblem at the time of repainting and the holes have been welded shut . Please don´t ask me why.
* new springs and restoring of rear SLS system. SLS has been removed by previous owner(s). Car should be about 2 inches lower from both ends.
* the driver's seat brim needs to be fixed
* new rear window (edges are blurred)
* new windscreen
* new 500E textile floor mats

Planned works somewhere in the future:
* full high-quality body paintwork

Believe it or not I was a "Pesky Tourist" in Tallinn about a month ago. Just a one day visit off of a cruise ship.

I always look for E500Es when I travel but so far I have seen none. Just to rare.

Thanks Terry! There are only 5 pieces of E500E-s registred in Estonia. To be honest, I haven´t met any other driving around in Estonia this year . I know that 2 of them are for sale at the moment, prices between 12-14k€ and 2 of them seem not to drive around much. So, I have to say that I feel quite good uniqe when cruising around
About Tallinn - thanks, but I personally am not very attracted to the city myself :?. I guess living here whole my life has an impact on it and the weather in Estonia has been mainly grey and sunless for few years now. The plan is to take my 500E + other capital and my wife with and move to Croatia on year 2017

Your car looks fine, and it's a bit rare to see electric drivers mirror on pre facelift European models. Additionally it has the Sportline steering wheel and probably the auto dimming mirror too?

I guess the steering wheel has been replaced at one time or at least restored as the leather and sw-s middle part doesn ´t quite shine the same. There is a noticeable contrast. Unfortunately the leather has some small scratches on it. I am pretty sure that after finishing works shown in the 1st post, I ´ll replace the sw with new one.
Auto dimming and heating mirrors do work well as all the other electric stuff

I hope to be the 1st Estonian here as it´s generally good to be 1st in everything

You were truly lucky then Terry! If you come next time, please take some more SoCal sun with you. I would highly appreciate it
I personally am starting to feel myself as a caveman already...and autumn has not yet begun. Last few years we have not more than 1500 hours sunshine annually (it´s approx. 17% from annum). I have to say, it is quite depressing in many ways - gray and rain almost every day.
Especially I am concerned about the cars wash that I need to do basically every week

You are right about the 2nd car looking nice. At least in the pics. I think it is a 95 model. Not sure any 96 models exist. Quite low mileage/kilometers and it's not a "Limited". If it's real 13,500 euro is not a bad price either.

With no history I'd say it came from Japan but what do I know. One of our experts may be able to check out the VIN.

This 2nd 1996 year model looks quite nice. I can´t say anything know about the milage trueness though.

The model year is wrong on both cars, they are both face lifted early models. It is easy to see on the missing equipment which was standard on the later models from Oct '93 to end production '95. Both cars has incorrect headlights too.

The first one has the early rear seat armrest w/strap, and a 500E trunk badge. It is missing the following standard face lift equipment:
- electric steering column
- electric drivers mirror
- auto dimming mirror
- infrared remote locking

The second car has the early rear seat armrest w/strap, and is missing the following standard face lift equipment:
- electric steering column
- electric rear sun shade
- auto dimming mirror
- infrared remote locking
