Painting problems

I gotta clear out some stuff before I can add anything else to the driveway. But a 944 is still sort of in the back of my mind...

I have worked on a number of them over the years. Which model do you have your sights set on? I owned a 88 944S for about 4 months. Sold it on because it was gutless off the line. the 8 valve mid cycle refresh cars 85-1/2 and newer are nice every day cars and are rewarding to drive but not very quick. The turbo models are really fun to drive with great brakes. 944S2 are nice as well with the 3 liter engine.

I have been debating between a 944 Turbo, a 968, or a 2.3-16. Tough choices. I had a 76 914 2.0. Traded that on a 1985 modified Ur-Quattro. Sold that for a 1990 Coupe Quattro RS2 Clone. That is up for sale due to my head is in the headliner. Great car, I just don't fit it.

944 turbo S is the best of the turbos But a 968 takes it a step further in refinement. Kind of like the difference between a 88 911 and 964. Porsche just makes the next model even better. Just overall a more refined feel. I used to work on a 83 UR for a doctor back in the late 80’s. I had the Audi coupe back then and used to drool over that car. Not real fast by today’s standards but crazy cool with the vacuum lock differentials. He used to use up turbos every 15-20K. Refused to let it idle down.
I am in the 928 crowd. Get a later S4 or a GTS. They even used the Mercedes 722.XXX transmissions so with a E500E you will feel right at home:jono:

Alphasud40: I've always loved the look of the 928. Finally got to drive a 91 GT 5-speed. Great car, I did not have enough head room.

My Ur-Q had over 300 horses. My CQ RS2 Clone has over 300 horses under the hood with genuine RS2 parts. Just can't decide which way to go. Most likely, the car will appear after the CQ RS2 Clone sells.
