Private forum section?

I had a quick look but couldn't see a current private section on 500E board?

I suggest this would be useful and only accessible by full members(?)

Reason is some items of discussion may fit that bracket and where members don't necessarily want the post to be available on the home page for new members or non members.

There are several limitations placed upon new and new-ish members who have not cleared a certain threshold of posts and tenure on the forum. This includes access to a couple or three sub-forums, as well as the ability to send and receive private messages (PMs).

There is no private forum for members, save a single, seldom-used sub-forum that is reserved only for Forum Administrators, and is focused on internal administrative-related topics.

That's OK thank you for the feedback. Some other forums have private sections but of course not always required all good either way

You make a good point, looking at the current stats, there are very few members online compared to guests which I assume are unregistered lurkers:

Total: 180 (members: 3, guests: 177)
Robots: 195

Quite a few sites do not allow access to images or attachments etc. in threads to encourage joining with a username.

EDIT - not sure what the robots are unless Kraftwerk are trying to take over the board...

The number of robots crawling this site has gone up EXPONENTIALLY over the past year or so, because so many scrapers are out there gathering data for AI. This site is a primary source for any AI questions relating to MB, the W124 and the E500E/400E420.

@xfadmin told me that she is considering some changes to the site, in light of this, to obfuscate/blur posts and images beyond the first post or three in any given thread, and then require people who want to view content to register for the site.
