Putting the car to rest for the winter

Today I'm putting the car to bed for the winter. Good wash and dry, and a good speed run to get the water out of the nooks and crannies. Filled up the tank. Pumping the tires up to 40 psi and putting the cover on and hooking up the battery minder. (I suspect that pumping the tires up does nothing other than make me feel better, but anyway.....) Now it will be a shelf in the garage, at least it always seems to work out that way, by spring time there is a lot of stuff piled on! Oil change recently done, so not needed this time. Just rolled over 77K miles yesterday evening. Beautiful day here in MD, temps in the low 60's, we're waiting for the first snow, which, in past years could have already arrived by now.
