Radio, Hazards Not Working & Rear Headrests Not Reclining

So I recently purchased my first 500E (1993 Pearl Black w/ Gray Interior). It traveled in from Nebraska where it had lived since purchase.

Upon delivery and initial inspection, I noticed the radio won't turn on, hazards don't work (although the turn signals from the steering column do), and the rear headrests won't recline.

Are these common issues? Are they related to burned out fuses?

Thanks in advance for any advice/thoughts!

Definitely check the fuses and by that I mean, physically touch each one, give it a twist in the holder and/or remove it and reseat. More than likely you still have aluminum fuses, if so, replace them with brass ones.

Replace fuse #9 first. Remember that the engine must be running for your headrest knock down to work, as it operates on manifold vacuum.

This might be a long shot, but if you have the rear window curtain option, make sure its fully lowered. If not the rear headrests will not recline.

If you get the other stuff working and the hazard lights still don't work... try swapping the wiper/blinker combo relay, located in the covered compartment directly behind the fuses. At the moment I'm still leaning towards a fuse issue, engine not running when headrest switch pressed, and/or the roller blind not fully retracted.

:pc1:
