WANTED Rear right ABS sensor [wheel speed sensor]

Hi all,

I'm looking for a rear right ABS sensor for my E500. Part number is A1245402417 and they should be the same on all ASR-equipped 400/420/500's.

I'm from Belgium, for shipping!

Thanks in advance,

Steve

FYI... this sensor is mounted into the top of the differential, and may be difficult to replace without dropping the diff. You are correct that it is also used on the 400E/E420 but only with optional ASR.

Have you checked availability from MB for new ones? It's $242 list / $175 discount USD, if available.

Hi, on my 2post lift removal was only a 30min job. I took out the 3 bolts holding the diff and dropped it 7-8cm for better access to the inbus holding the sensor.

I should check pricing with the dealer, but since they are sooo rare to fail I'd just put in a good one.

Did the design of the sensors change during the years? Mine that came out has a plastic top, but some sensors online with the same part number have a metal top.

There may be a version with a metal body (tube) vs plastic. I found another photo of the plastic version below. I'm not sure if the plastic type was used in production or only offered as a replacement part.

The O-rings are different, and the EPC doesn't show this (EPC error). Make sure the O-ring matches the sensor (plastic vs metal). The O-ring for plastic is thicker and won't fit on a metal body.

Thick O-ring for plastic = 006-997-73-48
Thin O-ring for metal = 014-997-97-48

All my diffs had this style with metal body and round metal can on top:

Found these photos on eBay of a plastic version:
