Looking to get a PPI done and need a good shop in the Sacramento area.

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Besides the MB dealer in Sacto (Von Housen)...? There are a couple of MB indy shops in that area but I don't know any to recommend offhand.

:scratchchin:

I would be much more comfortable with an indy.
Are you a Mercedes Club member? If so, get in touch with the area rep and ask where they take their cars.
If you know of anyone with an older Benz, ask them.

Would it be a good option to use the dealer for the PPI?
Good question. I'm not sure... depends if they have a tech who knows the W124 and M119 very well, and if you can have that specific tech do the PPI. Most newer techs go to school on the newer cars (i.e., W211, W212) and they tend to be part changers. A tech like that may or may not provide a comprehensive report on a 500E.

:wormhole:

I believe Bondavi lives in the Sacto area, so he should be very well qualified to advise on this topic. My mother-in-law lived in Carmichael for many years off of Howe Ave., but alas, she's a Lexus and now a BMW driver.....

Also the E420 and 560SEC runner "cascade" on Benzworld lives in the Sacto area too, so he could probably advise if you're a member on Benzworld:sniper:

Cheers,
Gerry

Got a great recommendation through Dave (thanks again for that!) and they pointed me to an independent shop called German Motors. They come highly recommended and after a nice little chat, they seem more than happy to help out and do a very thorough inspection of the car for me.

Thanks all for the input and feedback!

Cheers!
