To further stregthen the W124036 concours collector car status, I participated in Germany's biggest international concours; the 2021 ASC Classic Gala International Concours d'Elegance (FIVA standard). A grand competition at the Schwetzingen Castle with +180 Classic and youngtimer cars competing in various Classes.
The Red Baron was entered into two classes, the AMG-Class and the FIVA H-Class. both of which are FIVA spec evaluation.
3 Day event takes a lot of effort, car needed to be evaluated twice (Saturday and Sunday).
The Result: 1st Place in the AMG class! Red Baron drives up the winners podium as the first W124036 to win at an international concours, and first winner from the Gulf states.
Competing against cars from AMG affalterbach (300E 6.0 Hammer, 190E 3.2 AMG), and M-B employees with extremely well maintained, low mileage and well documented cars such as an ex-amg press car 1998 C43 in like new condition , and a 2004 CL55 AMG that looks more like 2019 than 2004 (all original paint, interior with very minimal signs of use).
Very high standard in the H-Class as well, we were very close to a podium finish, but it was between a 1of30 22tkm 1995 993 GT2 Club sport (Greatest 911 Ever made??) priced at 1.67 Million Euros, and a single ownership M635CSI (M6) with what I can be described a near perfect ownership history (Daily driven for 2 years, then documented 2Tkm per year in good weather with full dealership records for more than 30 Years!
