BOSCH housing are MUCH better than Hella ones. I have restored several pairs and the Hella ones are made with more fragile plastic inside. Almost all Hella headlights come with some damage on the frames which holds the reflectors or other defect. The frames holding the BOSCH reflectors are made with different plastic and despite their age they are good as new. When I remove the reflectors on the Hella housing there is always constant risk of something to break. When I do the same on BOSCH I don't stress so much.

Also Hella/BOSCH headlights on this era of headlights - I restore BMW headlights as well like E30/34 or other - BOSCH ones are made with better material than Hella ones and the cables are from silicone and they don't deteriorate like the Hella ones. Also the frames where the glass lens sit's are made much better with BOSCH than Hella. Their design where the glass sits is different and it's easier to remove Hella glass lens than BOSCH one.

Just finished Hella pair and waiting for their new owner. Frames on the big ones had damage so I had to repair them and I did them reliable. Replaced one of the holders which was damaged. Good cleaning inside and out. Leveling motors are tested and working. I'll be making and offering brand new seals for the glass frames as well for the W124 headlights.

I don't have any original lenses available for sale for E500 and probably I won't ever have. I offer only replica ones with normal glass which are shown in the 400/420E For Sale section.

Hella pair available for sale. New chrome coating on the reflectors. They have bulbs and everything is checked and verified it works. Nothing is broken or missing.

Another pair for sale for lower price but with small defects. Two of the clips were repaired but when I first got the headlights they were still holding good and firm the frames on them. At the moment this is the only set I have.

Price - 447 USD.

Hi Simon,
These look like 129 numbers here.
Here is what I’m told I need.
I have the lenses on my 93 pre facelift current USA headlights which do work but not well

Hi Simon,
These look like 129 numbers here.
Those are Hella numbers, which do not correspond to Mercedes chassis numbers.

What specific lenses do you have? A photo would be helpful.

@MK500, I have one lens for sale. It would be compatible with the type of headlight buckets that Simeon is selling. Never mind, just saw you are looking for a pre-facelift lens!

Not much light and not much distance.
This sounds like bad reflective coating. This pair will fix this issue and they'll be as bright as new ones. Still you will need pre-facelift frames [lenses] for them if you want to fit them into pre-facelift car. Do you have the frames [lenses] available?

If you are driving often at night and not going for 100% factory look I can make you something similar as in the photo - retrofitted Bi-Led projectors with Euro frames (not 500E) and sanded and polished glass lenses from outside and sanded and polished flutes from the inside so there won't be any light distortion.
