I have the long power mirror from a RHD W124 from Japan. Normally you would see these as a manual adjust mirror.....powered is very hard to find. Mirror boot is shrinking, but they can be purchased new...ill need to dig up the part number

Nice mod, Jeff. I have a similar set I got from Joe here and just looked to see they are power as well. I have already paint matched them but have not tried one on yet. The nice thing about this, folks, is it's a completely and easily reversed modification.

Just as a reminder about the non-interchangeability of mirrors for LHD and RHD cars, see post #8 in the linked thread. If someone don't believe it, just move over to the passenger side and look in the mirror. The mirrors doesn't have enough adjustment range, can't be tweaked either.

The mirrors are a direct bolt on without an issue and you can make a conversion harness easily by snipping off a partial harness from a LHD parts car with power adjust. Fortunately, the Japanese RHD version actually has the wide angle glass and although not a perfect solution, it does offer some useful viewing. I also happen to have the long rhd manual mirror on my restoration W201 190E 16V with the standard glass and I can confirm that the angles are so off it has rendered that mirror virtually useless. Again, this modification is not for everyone!

It would seem to me that a new mirror glass affixed to the old with a few dabs of silicone to correct the angle would make the mirror useful again.
