Hi guys taken my car for a respray due to rust on roof sunroof and around windows and a pillar body shop says needs a new roof anyone no we're I could get one and how much

Do you need a new sunroof metal panel? Should be available used. Can you post photos of the rust / damage?

No the whole roof panel is this available
The ENTIRE ROOF needs replacement??!!! Why??

You'd have to cut one out of a donor car. I would be shocked if MB still had this available new, and if so, it would cost a fortune. Nearly impossible to ship due to size & weight.

:yayo:

I have a perfect sunroof assembly taken out of a low mileage wreck about 10 years ago.
Please see attached photo. It is covered in dust due to storage, but is totally rust free.
Shipping maybe a problem as it is heavy & is located in Florida.
On the MB parts site all the parts in the photo below add up to $2000++
If you are interested, make me an offer & I'll ship out of Miami to GIB

Thx I'll take into consideration

The roof is identical to standard w124, so locating a scrap w124 in Spain with a decent roof shouldn't be too difficult. And if push comes to shove you can always get a roof from a wrecking yard in Germany where these cars are still ubiquitous in scrap yards

I’m still struggling to understand the circumstances under which the entire roof would need to be replaced. Unless water got in and couldn’t drain, headliner got wet and couldn’t dry, that sort of thing. Either way, more opinions would be in order. I don’t think I could stop at one. GL though.
