WANTED SLS Struts/Hydroshocks

Looking to purchase a set of SLS struts for my JDM 1994 E500. Noticed some creaking and clunking going on from the rear left and upon my tech's examination it seems the mount joints are smoked... Anybody know of a set for sale at a reasonable price? I've seen some on ebay but they want $1200 a piece O_o

Slipped my mind. Do they still sell these parts? I assumed NLA since I tried ordering them online but my order was canceled.

No one here has a known source for the bushings. There was some discussion and an owner that posted of using a BMW bushing. There are others like myself that have their old legs and want to discover replacement bushings. It's an unusual "hiem" type design but I believe the right rubber or poly may work and survive.

The shock has a much longer life than the bushings.

Should still be available (for now) but the price went up ~50% over the summer. MB Classic Germany still shows "available" as well. What's unknown is if MB will do another production run when current inventory runs out, or if they'll go NLA at that time.

Yes, the price went up by quite a bit but it might be a very good idea to stock up. I think myself and some others here have bought sets and if I recall correctly the front shocks have gone NLA in May already. So get the rears while you can. Hopefully MB does another run 😕

Can you remember what is the part number for front shock?

Xentry gives following part number:
A124 320 43 30 64

A1243204330 is correct for early 036 with M12 pinch bolt. And, you can use this on late 036 with M14 pinch bolt if you drill out the hole ~2mm. Early & late front struts are identical other than the bolt hole diameter.

The -64 suffix indicates a supplier change. In this case it will be Sachs, made in Turkey.

I thought that Sachs supplied all shocks to these cars? Or is that -64 suffix change also related when the production plant will change? I still bet that quality remains same as long as it is original Mercedes part depending where it is produced:scratchchin:

Correct, Sachs was the original supplier. The -64 suffix often indicates a supplier change, but in this case the -64 arrive still labeled Sachs, just made in Turkey instead of Germany. However, it could be related to Sachs being absorbed by ZF Corp, perhaps that is related to the -64? I really don't know.

MB rear shocks are now NLA. Inventory says that there is two available but it appears to be stock error. Tried to search all over the Globe but all gone 😔

I thought someone recently posted that although inventory is low (or zero), there was no NLA code, and there may be another batch produced? Probably need to get on the phone with a live person at the Classic Center to find out what's going on.

In the meantime, the aftermarket Sachs equivalent is still available for ~$500 USD each.

I did. Beginning of may there were less than 50 units left globally. This info was straight from Jon Siggson at the Classic Center.

Last week I sent email to local dealer and got following response:
"Marked with code C49. NLA from the factory or via Classic Center. You may source it by yourself or manufacture by yourself"

I'll hope that someday there would be another batch to produced or even AMG shocks..

C’mon jnes, stop being so over reliant on others to do the work for you, just manufacture it yourself. 😅😅😅😅😊😊 (jokes, jokes…)
