Smoke Test Questions

Have done 2 smoke tests on my 91 500sl. Corrected a few things after the 1st one.
What is the alternative to using a glove to seal the throttle body opening? I have tried 3 different mil gloves, and even when you do get them on after stretching them for 5 min, they end up with a pin hole leak where they are stretched too much. Does someone make something that works?
During 2nd attempt, I noticed it leaks pretty good on EGR valve on manifold even though the vacuum test passes. I am concerned because I am thinking it's not getting enough pressure to test the other areas because of this leak.
Lastly, after doing a test, the car seems to run rough because of all the oil residue in the intake. It does clear out after a good blast but is this normal after the test?
Thanks in advance gang!
